I bet he has prevent hibernation running. It's a big help in single player to get enough spawns. Unfortunately, it does cause the Cnidaria to often spawn out of the water and die. It's free bio-toxin if you use it (although that'd be an exploit imo), and I'm almost positive that one of them knocked the Argy out before it died in mid-air.

I know exactly what you're talking about with the taming UI and the cryopods - I never use them as I don't remember they exist! (They're also super cheaty IMO, lol) Our base is also in Hidden Lake on our current playthrough, lol!

you can put the beavers in a box with the argent., so you can passively farm the dams for free stuff.

That's where I'm built. All my medium and large dinos are on wander. And yes an argy has fell out the sky for me as well about a year ago on an official server I was on. A gift from god. But I'm built only foundations with smithy and all under the small cliff beside the lagoon. It's like 5 foundations big. Rest is on the ground. That's awesome you are there tho. That's prob the best place to build starter. I feel so much connected now. I'm so glad you left the beavers alive as well. Theres like 10 dams at mine. Gotta get a tameing pen over the water on on top your sky scraper so you dont gotta build over resorce spawns.

I took a boat over to herbi Island in my new playthrough. Going to build an epic base there, over time. I got lucky and had no issues with boat killers.

I love the hidden lake. My son and I built massive bases there overlooking the lake. I didn’t want to disturb the beaver spawns. Lined the top of the cliffs with towers with plant x turrets and spike walls to keep the carnos and therizinos from dropping in on us and then placed behemoth gateways to block the three entrances

You’re pretty close to the snow biome, getting a mammoth as an early-game main mount could be cool, especially with the TLC a few months back. The saddle is at level 31, and it’d make base building super easy. I’ve never done this, I just saw your video in S5 about their TLC and thought “huh, these new abilities would probably be useful for him right now” And I was wondering what you were going to do with Genesis 2, good to know what the plan is.

@@jojomaster7675 with the way he just went for it in the next episode, I’d say he’s up for the challenge. Also, I know he doesn’t like the chore of getting the utility dinos, getting a mammoth now could negate the negatives a little by making it harder and more fun for him, as opposed to later when it’s more of a “I guess we need a wood harvester now, we’ll just go pick one up from the supermarket real quick” type feeling.

Don't worry, Phlinger. I've also played this game since it came out and I started a new playthrough recently around the time you started this one. I also forgot about the ''taming progress'' window until you mentioned it in this video :'D PS. I want to add that I forgot how insanely much exp you can get in this game if you play on 1x EXP gains. I'm around level 98 and only have 5 tames and 1 little wood shack still. Most levels gained from killing alpha raptors with my argent and picking up notes (sometimes killing alphas with the exp buff on). I'm genuinely thinking of lowering exp gainst to .75x or .5x just to not steamroll through all the unlocks so far when I next decide to start over

Watch the video again, man. He said he's going back for it, but left it taming in stasis (go far enough away from a tame and it's out of render distance, and so won't get attacked, but will still tame). I would worry too much, especially with an argy at this stage in a play through, but the technique works, especially now we have the tame tracker.

At 10:31 you can see the cliff on the far shore where I plopped down and made my first base on my play along play through. right on the beach, nothing worse than a dilo ever came to bother me. I couldn't go the same direction as Phlinger, I had everything he had spawn, trio of sabers, the allo pack, but when I ran south, I got two render clicks before the rex rendered in. Had to swim around dangerous things and argents fighting every dino in existence before I got there, but things took off pretty fast from there.

I had a similar build on my ark mobile server. It was my farm/sacrifice palace. That had a staircase the led down from the little overlook from the south of the lake.

that’s how i leveled up all my battle rexes. First i tried to kill dinos but it would take like 30 minutes per rex and the i realized i could just hit trees and it took about 10 minutes per rex to get 30 levels

Get an Iguanodon to do your first resources run at Giga mountain. It might be the only way before the Argent, as raptors' weight sucks and you don't have a saddle for the carno.

I saw u heading up north and i'm like "is he going to hidden lake to make a base?" and I was like heck yea. I never thought about building on the water tho usually build on the top and leave the beavers so I can raid the dams consistently. Please save that tek perry. Apart from at the end of the episode everytime I see it it is running for its life.

First of all, I love this series. I just recently stumbled upon you channel, looking for some good Alpha-Overseer tactics and stuff and yeah, now I‘m watching nonstop xD Also could you probably tell me what graphic-settings u are using? My game always kinda looks like crap, no matter what I try, also the lighting is always a little off, constantly looks as if I was playing on gamma 4 (I‘m not, I checked xD), which gets really annoying, when you can‘t see something because it is too bright Any tips or tricks I could check out and try?

You don’t have to carry your torch while riding your trike boss just put the torch on the saddle makes it lot easier to see and lil bit more light to see at night as long as your tame has a saddle it works with any saddle on tames

You did it again Phlinger...had me on the edge of my seat with that night time path scene. Bravo 👏 I really like your mix this season. I mean, nobody likes playing in the dark. And it can be tough on the audience, but you are doing a phenomenal job bringing that night time suspense to the series. I remember my first few nights on The Island I was scared out of my mind listening to the dinos in the distance praying for daylight. You probably have already seen it but there is a hidden lake in the redwoods kinda like this one but it is gorgeous, i built kind of a floating city in it and it wasn't that bad considering I cant build to save my life it's in the mid-west part of the redwpods if you wanna check it out

Do you have some setting to get high level dinos around you. I just started a game in the same spot and everything is around 10, some around 20, but that's it. Just bad luck? Most are under 10.
