Chris mortality rate has nothing to with whether it’s classed as a pandemic. A pandemic means that their are ongoing epidemics of a particular disease in at least two continents. And in response to the op; virtually every single epidemiologist in the world believed that such a pandemic was going to happen sooner or later. It’s hard to say with Marburg, since there haven’t been any extremely large outbreaks like with Ebola. The smaller outbreaks suggest a lower mortality, but the larger ones, like the one depicted in the video above, seem to show a very high mortality rate, pretty much identical to Ebola-Zaire. They’re both bad.

There is no evidence that Marburg virus can spread through sex or other contact with vaginal fluids from a woman who has had MVD.
