Not exactly a pandemic, the survivability rate or covid19 is 98% while the mortality rate of marburg is 25%. Exclusively highly different classifications of viruses. The media is spreading fake news to create panic and fear.
@margraveofgadsden8997
@margraveofgadsden8997 4 жыл бұрын
Chris mortality rate has nothing to with whether it’s classed as a pandemic. A pandemic means that their are ongoing epidemics of a particular disease in at least two continents. And in response to the op; virtually every single epidemiologist in the world believed that such a pandemic was going to happen sooner or later. Many were even looking at the possibility of a novel coronavirus, similar to SARS or MERS.
@oliviero46
@oliviero46 3 жыл бұрын
Chris looks like you're the one who's spreading fake news. Marburg mortality average is 50% with a peak of 90% during an outbreak years ago in Angola. CoVid-19 problem is NOT its mortality, it's it high infection rate. Fortunately, CoVid-19 is not deadly as almost every hemorrhagic fever but you need a bed in ICU to recovery from CoVid-19. It means one less bed for someone who really needed that bed becouse someone didn't take care against an avoidable infection. That's why people must stay home and avoid unnecessary contacts.

Well, Pfizer executive just admitted (Veritas) that they conduct 'Gain of Function' research on viruses. Effectively turbo-charging their effects / transmissability, in order to pre-emptively create vaccines. They either do this for the benfit of humanity, or they do it to make lots of money, should the virus inadvertantly get out. Take your pick.

It’s hard to say with Marburg, since there haven’t been any extremely large outbreaks like with Ebola. The smaller outbreaks suggest a lower mortality, but the larger ones, like the one depicted in the video above, seem to show a very high mortality rate, pretty much identical to Ebola-Zaire. They’re both bad.

African fruit bat carries the virus, but does not get sick itself. It is unknown how Marburg virus first spreads from its animal host to people; however, for the 2 cases in tourists visiting Uganda in 2008, unprotected contact with infected bat feces or aerosols are the most likely routes of infection. After this initial crossover of virus from host animal to people, transmission occurs through person-to-person contact. The virus spreads through contact (such as through broken skin or mucous membranes in the eyes, nose, or mouth) with: Blood or body fluids (urine, saliva, sweat, feces, vomit, breast milk, amniotic fluid, and semen) of a person who is sick with or died from Marburg virus disease, or Objects contaminated with body fluids from a person who is sick with or has died from Marburg virus disease (such as clothes, bedding, needles, and medical equipment). Semen from a man who recovered from MVD (through oral, vaginal, or anal sex). Data on Marburg virus is limited; however, it is known to persist in the testicles and inside of the eye, similar to ebolaviruses. Since Marburg virus and ebolaviruses are both in the same virus family (Filoviridae) it can be assumed that persistence of the Marburg virus in other immune privileged sites (placenta, central nervous system) may be similar. There is no evidence that Marburg virus can spread through sex or other contact with vaginal fluids from a woman who has had MVD.

@terryhsiao1745
@terryhsiao1745 10 жыл бұрын
lol. NO. Chlorine is very effective against virus with a membrane wrapping around the genetic core. Chlorine works by disrupting this membrane which has specific docking apparatus for infection cells.
@Durchbrechen
@Durchbrechen 10 жыл бұрын
chlorine can be used outside the body only. Once the virus has entered the body you can't use it because - in the concentration needed to eliminate the virus inside the body - would also kill the patient. Indeed Chlorine has been used as a weapon in WWI. In wikipedia you find the interesting story of its applications.
