I left a few pockets open on my most recent Greenstalk setup for cooler weather crops and still planted a few that may or may not do well in the warmer weather. Sometimes hedging risks/outcomes can be a good thing. I am impressed with how great your lettuce looks after only two weeks 👊🏻🌻👊🏻

These are really great planters. A good practice would be, like in any container, moisten soil first and then fill planter. Then thoroughly water soil over the course of two days and THEN plant it up.

I saw another GreenStalk video that said you should water the dirt well on each tier as you put it together so your comments make sense re the amt of water you needed at the start.

parsley is definitely a slow germinator and it helps to soak the seeds for 24 hours before planting as well

Looks great...I've seen a few others growing in the Greenstalk. I may have to give it a try.

I planted my new Greenstalk yesterday and am excited. I just wish the company would respond to my emails.

They’ve always been super responsive to me so it’s possible your email didn’t go through. You might try calling their customer service number.

@@thebeginnersgarden I wrote again. Apparently she DID respond but I never got that email. Who knows where it went? I once had a pastor who sent an email to my associate pastor and it arrived 3 YEARS LATER! 😃

I’m confused about the watering. Won’t the top tier get water logged by the time the rest of the water gets to the bottom? Also, how do you know how much is enough water? Do you just fill it to the top once and done?
@thebeginnersgarden3 жыл бұрын
It would seem that the top would get more water, but that’s the beauty of this patented system. All of the tiers get watered the same through the funnel system within it the unit. I personally water until the water starts coming out the bottom of the Greenstalk, which indicates that all of the discs in each tier have filled completely and are watering their respective tiers.

Are there zucchini in the razed planting beds? If so did you have a problem with grubs eating into the vine/stem?
@thebeginnersgarden4 жыл бұрын
Yes, those are summer squash. No, I haven't had the squash vine borer in this planting because I planted them late (in early August). The borer is a problem in my spring and summer crops, though, which is why I plant a late planting to avoid them.
