Epic Motors! Schindler Hydraulic Freight Elevators - Target, Westgate Center - San Jose, CA

[Recorded 1-15-22] These are the freight elevators for this store. I wasn't expecting two of them but I suppose it's not a surprise since this is a really busy store. These are cool elevators with really nice motors! I’m assuming these also had MT fixtures originally before the mod, just like the passenger cars. I like the two-speed car gates and the alarm bell floor recognition. I don't recall ever seeing a bell used for floor recognition in person or on KZbin. Both of these serve an additional floor which the main passenger elevators don't. The third floor is just stockroom space and doesn't span the whole length of the store. Really cool freighters!

The fact that the Target associate didn’t notice and/or care that you were on the freighter actually surprised me. Usually store staff are cagey about customers in restricted areas. Then again, you probably have some clever way of getting around that. My bypass for my friends is that I work for the store so I can bring whoever I want back there with basically no consequences. The only conditional is that I have to keep an eye on them at all times to make sure they don’t swipe something.

These freighters are dopeAF! Wish it wouldn't ring the alarm every time you put in a call, but these are cool! I also like the 2 speed inner gate with the bottom half in solid metal rather than full cage. That was an interesting choice.

2 speed car gates are necessary when the distance from the top landing to the overhead structure doesn't permit a single section 6ft car gate panel
