My very first concert was seeing this man at the Save-On-Foods Memorial Centre in Victoria. His wife was there and he mentioned to everyone in the arena that it was her birthday.. John wrote this song for his wife Julie, who he credited with helping melt away the anger he felt about the fallout with CCR, the lawsuits, and the death of his brother, who died before they really got a chance to make peace. John said that Julie told him one of the happiest days of their time together was the day he brought a guitar home and started playing again.
