You should be filled with joy when you live the Christian life. Philippians is a joyful letter to read as you live the Christian life. Do not let the devil steal your joy! This was written about AD 62. Phil. 2:25-30; 10:20; Psa. 16:11. This book is the sharing of Paul’s joy. Acts 28:30-31. Nineteen times Paul uses the word joy, rejoicing, or gladness in this epistle. He had no reason to be joyful. He was a prisoner in his own house. Rom. 1:13-16. Some Christians wanted to make things difficult for Paul and the Apostles. The word “mind” is often repeated in Philippians: ten times, and “think” five times, “Remember” one time. Prov. 23:7. Things that rob you of your joy include circumstances. Lk. 12:50. How few of the circumstances of life are under our control: consider the weather, traffic, etc. The poet Byron said, “Men are the sport of circumstances.”
