Hello guys, today I am comparing my very first vintage batch of Dior Sauvage EDT and my newer batch bottle, let's see if they are different or still the same.

Nice video. I agree that there is something sweeter in older batches. Also, my older 2016 bottle has a sharper and more potent opening compared to newer ones.

Very true! I have a 2016, 2018, and 2020. Just smelling the atomizers you can tell! My 2018 does something magical for some reason❤️ , I think sauvage EDT is still way worth it!

I have a full EDT bottle: 5U03 batch / July 2015. Its the rare early bottle that was released with different CD logo on the bottom of the bottle. It smells amazing. Beast mode better than my 2017 EDP!

Thank you so much for this Vid. Very interesting! I felt in love with the „sauvage cool spray“ last week and buy the newest sauvage edt. Its smell the same. But i hear everywhere the old one edt was muuuuch better. But….where can i buy the old one today? Nowhere. So i‘m very happy about your review. Thank you so much!! ❤️😊 Btw: The new sauvage edt stays on my skin 8 Hours. Its not a bomb, its a skin scent, but absolutly looovely!! 💙💙💙

Thank you for sharing .. I bought Sauvage edt 100ml £70 .. from the Perfume shop .. 5th Feb 2023. lovely fragrance .. can't smell it after a few hours .. it lasts 12 hrs on my shirt ..

The newer batches lost their spicy sweetness, also I feel like it has lost a lot of the expensive ambroxan

I'm not too sure if it isn't just maceration. I have a new 2024 batch (some months old) and now I just got a used January 2018 Batch with 190/200ml left. The older batch is a little bit stronger and it misses the citric opening. But that could just be because it is 6 years old. My 2014 Bleu de Chanel edt almost has no citric notes in the opening anymore compared to newer ones but I remember it being very citric in the opening. It's just that the top notes fade over the years. Vintage bottles that are decades old usually miss the fresh citric top notes, too. So basically I think it is either just maceration or dior reformulated dior sauvage before 2018 (which I highly doubt)

It’s always difficult to compare fragrance batches because the older batches have matured(macerated) more and become more potent…. Maybe if spray a bit and allow the new batch for same time you would get similar performance… I experience that often

@@BigBoss-bi8qd use like 50% of the perfume over 4 years .. by this time the remaining 50% will be very potent than when you started using it….. when you spray and air gets into the bottle to fill the space it makes it mature over time

It seems like they are doing what Versace Eros did the edt is less strong and the edp is basically the first batch of edt when it first came out and it was beast mode

Hey I got the original dior Sauvage EDT from Sephora, but I was really shocked after trying it out that it will only stay 3-4 hours on my clothes, projection like 10-30 mins but scent was great. Even tho everyone else in youtube and everywhere where saying that sauvage EDT stays 8hrs+ and projects for 2 hrs. I never got that with me, it would be gone quickly. I tried it also on my friends, I sprayed it on my clothing in the closet also sprayed it on napkins and left it inside my closet. Came back after 5 hrs and the smell is gone. I thought I had the fake one, I went to sephora to make a complaint saying that they could’ve sold me a fake dior sauvage. And upon checking badge number, it turned out that mine was made on September 2022 so that probably could be the reason. Really bad experience not buying it again

I experienced this as well. If I'm going for a designer blue scent id rather get dylan blue 200ml for $65 so i can spray however much i want and not worry about it

When I first smelled Sauvage EDT I was comparing it to Bleue de Chanel EDT, and in fact I liked Sauvage a bit more. It reminded me and still somehow reminds me of some melon mojitos I have had in the Canary Islands.

The new batches are weak sauce. I bought an old batch of edp it was one of the best things I've ever smelled. BUT it went rancid and off in a month. I sprayed it once because I was trying to save it... Two days later it went off. They replaced the bottle with a newer batch. Boring. It is so boring. Get an older batch. But bare in mind you're risking it

I dont think it was reformulated because the formula code is still the same when it was released. However, i can say that every batch smells diff. And i dont know why it happens. Maybe same as aventus?not sure. My aug 2020 batch was a beast in longevity and projection and the smell itself. My nov 2020 smells like a mess. And my dec 2021 is very citrusy which i dont prefer, less projection ,ok longevity. Maybe they tamed it a little bit so it can be wear in an office setting. Like joy said, less peppery and lavender. I keep buying it searching for the same smell as my aug 2020. But i just wasted money.

Sauvage edp completes the dna imo. The pepper compliments the sweet nutmeg in the edp. Sauvage overall with its spicy vibe is best for colder months which is why the nutmeg vanilla in edp masters the juice. Id much rather wear BDC the warmer months as its fresh and uplifting over peppery.

To be honest the Edp is the musky type fragrance and the girls who loves and attracts to musky men are more like to smell that fragrance more and for those who live the edt they are like of the boys type fragrance. (Not for men) And sill-age of edp>>>edt as it depends on the situations too. In winter time, no one can beat Edp sillage in comparison to edt

The edp and edt were reformulated … Dior added an ingredient to increase the base notes strength and extend the performance… it is documented online the ingredient is iso-something lol sorry I can’t remember it’s full name just that it starts iso ✌️

I have 2022 batch of Sauvage EDT, ofc its not perform as good as the old Batches. Its less spicy or pepper, more soapy n clean out of shower, but still have the dna of Sauvage, spl is very weak, you must respryay more n more.

try gentle elsatys for instance. Lasts the same time as current formulation for sauvage edt. Think about it, cheaper, lasts the same time, smells the same (don't lie to yourself). It is objectively better.

@@patrickbateman4541 I know EDT been reformulated .. 2J01 my batch Sept 2022 .. Rubbish .. Not worth £70 for a 100 ml .. Carbon was £65 a lot like Sauvage, but Sauvage does smell better .. No projection after 1 hour. gone by 5 -6 thought I'd gone nose blind. My Mrs said she could only smell it if she smelt my neck .. never buying again ..
