Rachel, did you mean to say, Matthew 22:36-40 ? The greatest commandment is, you shall love the Lord thy God. And the second commandment is, you shall love your neighbor as yourself. Many preachers can talk that talk, but many preachers can't walk that walk. The question is, can a preacher survive living in the streets for a year, without money, and without housing, and without family? Do you think a rich and famous preacher is going to go door knocking, and preaching the gospel? Did you think a rich preacher is going to sell everything and give it to the poor?

True biblical love is selfless, it’s sacrificial. Self love & self hate are both self centered. They both stem from fear & not love. Those who feel the need to love themself are fearful of lacking love. Those who hate themself are also fearful of not being good enough. God centered love does not fear but always trusts (1 Corinthians 13:7). God is love (1 John 4:7-8) & he is sufficient for our needs (Philippians 4:19). God is capable of loving us better than we could ever love ourselves, do not fear & trust Gods love is sufficient for you.

@@ShepherdMinistry I don't trust in dreams or anything else over God's word but I also do not limit the many ways that God speaks to me and if it is through a dream His Holy Spirit inside of me will discern rather or not it was of God or not. God's ways are not our ways and His thoughts not our thoughts.

There is a love of self that is a selfish, self centered, conceded, proud, arrogant, inconsiderate and incompassionate to others that's not the type of love for ones self I'm speaking of and I don't think Joyce was speaking of either. 1 Corinthians 13:4-5 Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful. Jesus Christ died so that we could have the opportunity to embrace and live fully in that love it is PERFECT! That love applies to ourselves and others. It is Who God is- GOD IS LOVE, Therfore if God created me and He lives inside of me I must love me because I love God who also lives inside of me. I feel that if we love God as we should first then and only then will we be able to love ourselves and others with a true love. 1 John 4:8-9 He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love. In this was manifested the love of God toward us, because that God sent his only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through him.

Meditating the Word, you can get to know God and see how He thinks and also see the Plan that He has for all of us. Obeying His commandments and applying His Word, praying having intimacy with God will bring blessings to our lives, healing to our bodies and miracles.
