Hello Friends!
I had so much fun with my last Open Cup Pour that I want to do it again! I wanted something a little lighter in spirit so I'm using Pearl as my basecoat this time.

I cut the top off a 7 ounce dixie cup and use that as my ring. I do three separate pours. Yesterday it felt like I didn't let the cells develop very much on one of the pours before I removed the ring, so today I leave it on there and let it continue to develop while I pour another one with the ring I used yesterday. I twirl the rings to make a swirl pattern before I remove them.
I feel like the edges and corners are a bit dry and need more paint so I put some of the 24k Gold around the edges and then I tilt to cover the canvas. So many beautiful cells!! I see a gorgeous psychedelic mushroom! 🍄
I really like open cup pours and want to play with different basecoat colors, especially black. That will probably be my next pour..

Mina, I love this stretched composition you created! Those huge boulder cells are calling to me, and I'm so glad you kept that gorgeous upper left corner with the Naples Yellow, Turquoise and touch of 24K that swoops over the top and back down (and contains those awesome striped boulders that I love!!)! I'm going to have to try using the pearl white as a background...it's so pretty. Hey, lusting after colored paints is my favorite hobby, right after painting with them! (It's FAR less expensive than cut diamonds, emeralds, rubies, amethyst, and other fine jewelry, and it gets me into less trouble than lusting after other things!) Another absolutely gorgeous pour!!! I'm watching all yours over as I get my head set to try the 24k for the first time after forever looking for some! Was able to get 1 jar and honestly I'm not sure I'll sleep as my head is going nuts with "should I do this or should I do that?!?!?!" Aahaahahaha hopefully I'm not the only one that's crazy like that ;) hearing the sweet birdies makes this super relaxing so thought "I'll be able to go to bed after this one!" But, then seeing it move and how it looks dry, again my brain is bouncing off the walls at 2am :) maybe if I just mix up the gold I'll feel like I can rest...other colors have been mixed and ready cuz I've done other pours....but, I might not be able to stop myself and my husband will again come out to the dinning room...I mean my art studio...asking if I'm alright :) but, he gets it :) Anyway....oh also, your video work is always so great too :) you and your hubby are obviously a great team :) thanks so much for everything!
