I just bought a Zombie II XL and an Orange cab. I absolutely LOVE it. So much sound. 2 things I upgraded though, was an EQ pedal and an EQD Plumes boost to add a slight amount of mid-gain. Sounds great with all of my guitars (EMGs, Seymours, stock Ibanez pups). And on top of alllll of that...its is LOUD AS FUUUUUU.

I just bought one of these monsters yesterday and am here to share a bit of a hack and review. This is my signal path: Guitar-tuner-mini wah-Overdrive-(input of amp)-send out to EQ pedal-Noise Suppressor-reverb-delay-(dly out) to Seymour Duncan Powerstage 700 input-SMPS700 out to 2x12 cab. With this rig setup I have a tube preamp running through two sources of post EQ and have 700 solid state watts of power. I cut the base with the EQ pedal and slightly boost the mids, then I can sculpt further using the PowerStage eq. This thing rips with this configuration.

Considering it's a mini head I think it sounds pretty decent. I'd much rather have one of these than say, an Orange Micro Terror. Those sound muddy even if you're playing clean or low/mid gain. Also I love your channel. It's super refreshing to see someone simply shut up and demonstrate the amp, instead of having some arrogant jerkoff talk for 20 minutes, and then shred for about 2.

The Micro Terror is about the best all around amp in this class. If you play only one kind of music, then by all means get a specialist. But, if you want a general purpose platform that you can do anything passably with, the MT20 is the best bang for buck. Next best is the Joyo Meteor.

If you have a tube amp, you can run one of the mini orange heads into the power section of the tube amp. That gets rid of the mud and gives an all tube sound.

I got the jackman 2 and the zombie 2, I play them both through seperate 4x12 marshall code 412 cabinets, using a a/b/y splitter to send the guitar signal to both amps. The built in distortion channel on these amps are great, the jackman gives me a jcm sound, and the zombie gives me a mesa boogie rectifier sound. Dont be fooled by their size or 20w rating, these amps are loud as hell. I put my valve heads away and use these nowerdays, that's how much they impressed me.

I have the zombiell, man I love that thing. I loop in anything I desire and it takes well. In the loop I use a pedal that has "out A & out B". Out A, obviously heads for the re turn on zombie, out B plugged into V -tone GDI21 by Behringer then xlr to mixer. The results are mind blowing. What a great time to be a broke guitarist!!

Hello. I have an important and great question that is not resolved in the manual and I have not received an answer from Joyo either by e-mail when I asked them this question. The great question that I asked them by E-mail is this: I just want to connect the BantAmp as if it were a pedal in the chain. Guitar to the input and send to interface, without connecting any speaker or headphone. Can I connect it like this without any load? Do not output the sound through headphones or speaker?

I see the unit you have doesn't have the issue mine has. OD Channel has a clean channel bleed in, if you turn the Gain all the way down, you can still hear some of the clean bleeding in, if you put the Gain up just a little bit almost above no gain, you can hear some of the OD but clean also bleeding in, does this no matter what gain level you add. Must be a faulty unit? Few people said this is normal and some Marshall amps they have do this. I also have the first Zombie, and I just modded that so accept the foot-switch for from this amp. That one works just fine. Over all they sound good, mixed with an EQ pedal and optional tube screamer to add just a bit more.

Guys PLEASE this is driving me insane. Do the bantams need to be connected to an amp or do they actually produce sound by themselves? The description I've seen on amazon is kinda vague and all the reviews I've seen have it on top of a bigger amp, so I'm not sure??? Sorry if this is a stupid question but I know very little about these things...I just wanted to get my boyfriend a new amp for Christmas and I don't wanna mess it up xD

The unit by its self needs either headphones or a speaker cabinet to produce sound. So if you want something for him to practice with quietly it would work with no cab. This head is tube pre amp and solid state power amp. This means it’s safe to run it with just headphones plugged in. Hope that helps. Can anybody speak to the quality of the headphone out?

I tried the headphone out. You are better off plugging an IR cab simulator like the two note torpedo cab m+ or the cheaper Mooer radar into the effects send than using the headphone jack. If the Zombie had a cab sim for the headphone jack it is fairly poor. With this chain, guitar -> zombie -> effects send -> ir cab sim -> headphone jack on ir cab sim the zombie sounds awesome.

I think that's because of the low end. Do the proper modern metal thing and throw a tubescreamer in the front and you could even throw a eq in the loop just to tame the low end and mids

Got mine yesterday. No output through the speaker out connection. Putting it into an 8ohm cab, I've changed the tube and still nothing. I'd rather repair it if i vs rather than warranty/return claim.
