I like all detailing on the mechs, but just hate trying to put them together due to time constraints (family life and job). I can't wait for this one to come in for the mere fact it'll be read outta the box! Thanks for the excellent review as always!

Yeah, wasn't a fan of putting everything together either. Love that Joytoy got rid of the reliance on straps to keep the armour in place! Definitely easier to pose etc. Enjoy! Cheers, mate

Been waiting for this review! :D Yes, it looks to have great playability. Even better than FEAR series because you don't have to worry about parts falling off. Though, I also agree that some joints do look worrisome. Would love to see long-term review down in the future to see if those joints still hold up

I really wish the blades are removable with the armor plate stays on those arms, because it bothers me a bit.. overall all though looks great. Btw I pre-ordered the Zeus version!

Yeah agreed! That would've been a nice touch to have the blades removable. I'm really tempted by the Zeus, but finding space is becoming a problem lol

Yes, definitely more fun! The stupid tied on armour was a fragile nightmare. Ailinna on Aliexpress is selling the pilot for about £40, but that may be a bit much to pay for it. Celebrations are going on now! At family's at the moment and having a few mates over later. You have a good'un too Gunnar!

Great review as usual, mate! I got mine a few days ago as well and, while I absolutely love the design, I actually hate the articulation (which is why I think I'll pass on the Zeus). Due to the weird angles allowed by the leg joints, it's a darn nightmare to have his feet firmly planted on the ground. Adding to that is the fact that, even though some of the joints are STIFF, they are also loose paradoxically, because there's play between the ratcheting points. Not to mention the balancing act that, depending on how or what weapons you equip him with, is close to guessing the winning lottery numbers. As for the pilot, the thing that irks me the most is his "spray-on top", as the trunk is just an unpainted naked one. All in all, the big guy looks great and has some awesome new pieces, but once you get it in a good pose, it's more of a shelf queen. I'm going to detail mine with some additional "cautionary" decals (such as "Beware of Blast" for his shin thrusters) and have him "support" one of my 1:18 Abrams tanks, as the dark earth shade on them matches almost perfectly.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who realised the misalignment of the ratchet joints. Quite annoying, but it's not been a deal breaker for me yet... I'll see how it goes with more play though. I think jumping from the FEAR to this is a world of difference. I've been over the moon to be able to play about and not have to worry about fixing up armour parts every few minutes. They did the same ratchets for the 40k figures and their arms. There's definitely too much play space between each ratchet

So holds up (literally!). The ratchet joints are a big help, and overall huge improvement over the previous FEAR mecha. I'm pretty sure you can get this mecha for a good deal from some vendors

@@SkellywagsTV yeah I like my fear mecha's but the strap system was annoying. I'm happy this will be here for me this week also I'm glad the pilots guns are in front instead of his side ..it made it harder to fit him in the fear lol

Yeah fitting a figure into the Fear was really problematic. An improvement here, but you do need to move the thigh parts so they are front facing. Those straps! Ugh, such a poor design choice

sad to witness joytoy's latest release are overly influenced by war*****r and the cartoonish proportion tends to look short & chubby with stubby roundish weapons. miss the realistic proportion of steel bone armor series & god of war. but finally new release such as 1:18 xingtian & zeus and 1:25 steel bone 09 silver guardian recapture joytoy's signature design style & acumen
