She needs to do more folk songs!!! This is gorgeous. SO many feels. This album got me through the worst time of my life... Please make more like this. The world really needs music right now. Real music.

I know I might sound like a Civil Wars' orphan, but Joy really shines when she's singing with guitars and acoustic arrangements instead of electronic gimmicks...

JPW, taught her to be true to a soulful sound! She didn't have that before!

She seems to be sticking with her COUNTRY style, she learned from JOHN PAUL WHITE! John helped her to learn what substance is, realism is worth more, than what oeople are doing today! This feels more like real life, not fake dance club stuff!!!!
@jamiedc21873 жыл бұрын
I agree. I tried listening to that electronic crossover album she did and it did not click for me. But this country folk sound is what made me fall inlove with her voice.

Well Motherhood is a divine role,ordained of God! But children grow up, and friends can start to mean more to them, then their parents ever have, this has happened to me! They can give you the greatest Joy of your life, along with the greatest sorrow you have ever felt in your life!!! Just take their cell phones away, and spend every moment you can with them! Life with you're kids is worth more than anything in this world!!!

This is a beautiful. As someone who was told by her mother to leave, and was instead taken in by other mother figures in my life, it moves my heart that other people have this sentiment. Your daughters are going to grow up so strong and feeling so loved. I hope to give my own future daughters (if I have any) that kind of solid ground. Both roots and wings, and a place to fly in and out of

That's great! I didn't have a Dad ,I lived my whole life never hearing him say he loved me! That was very hard! But I'm a very strong person! When he died ,I received his ashes and buried him in a beautiful cemetery, overlooking the mountains! I found peace from the Lord!

Joy always seems to amaze me with her amazing lyrics , and her unique beautiful voice. Being from San Diego where people don’t really listen to this kind of music just makes me feel extra lucky to know such an artist like her ❤️
@radwhack15 жыл бұрын
Maybe they don't way down there in San Diego. But way up here in Encinitas/Leucadia we sure do. And we go to John Paul's concerts when he blows through (two so far) and we had our tickets for Joy's visit to the BUT (Belly Up Tavern for the non-locals) but that got canceled. We all hope the reason for that can be resolved. But no matter how is goes , or what exactly it involves, we all hope Joy knows she has one hell of a support group out here.

Cardiff is listening, too! Had to stream KCBX Broken Spoke out of Paso to hear it, though. Local radio just doesn't cut it. Didn't know that she was scheduled to be at the BUT! Lovely song.

[Verse 1] There are no wrong roads And no window stays closed Love is always sad when it fades The glass is better stained anyways [Chorus] If never you find what you’re looking for Come on back to the front porch Say my name through the screen door Come on back to the front porch Whatever you’ve done it doesn’t matter 'Cause darling we're all a little splintered and battered But the light is on, what you waiting for? Come on back, come on back to the front porch [Verse 2] We carved a story in these boards Watching life go back and forth You take it all for granted, then you leave And then it takes a while to realize what you need [Chorus] If never you find what you’re looking for Come on back to the front porch Say my name through the screen door Come on back to the front porch Whatever you’ve done it doesn’t matter 'Cause darling we're all a little splintered and battered But the light is on, what you waiting for? Come on back, come on back [Bridge] I took the long way Looking for the shortcut To find out that this place Was made of the best of... [Chorus] If never you find what you’re looking for Come on back to the front porch Say my name through the screen door Oh, come on back to the front porch Whatever you’ve done it doesn’t matter 'Cause darling we're all a little splintered and battered But the light is on, what you waiting for? Come on back, come on back Oh, come on back, come on back to the front porch

Joy, I’d love to share your KZbin link for this song on our web site. Front Porch Counseling . Com. Is that a possibility? It’s a lovely song that evokes many emotions and encourages people, after exploring their own roads, to come back to the safety and solidarity and sacredness of the place where they connected with those they love the most; those who accept them as they are. Thank you for putting this to melody!
