Stockfish is currently the strongest chess engine better than lc0 , dragon, torch , berserk and all the other ai engines but the thing is that stockfish is not undefeatable it has lost many game pairs against lc0 , torch , dragon and even berserk

Correction: Torch always finished 3rd in rapid, behind Stockfish and Lc0. It indeed always finished 2nd in all blitz and bullet tournaments

Leela depends on GPU. Their CPUs are excellent but their GPUs are limited. Also, Torch's code was private. For all we know, it was yet another fork of Stockfish, and that's why it was so strong.

+1 for this comment, and it reopens a can of worms among developers with various famous chess engines in the past.

"Torch's code was private. For all we know, it was yet another fork of Stockfish": Rybka's code was private too, still they found out there was code in it, which was taken from other chess programs. Just like all chess programs, btw.

Keep covering the top engines, they're pretty much the only chess videos I watch.

My reply is not posting for some reason. To clarify: Rybka's code was proprietary, but the program is commercial. You could buy Rybka and test it, and reverse-engineer it if you found it suspicious after testing. Torch's code is _private_ : you cannot buy the program, you can only use it to analyze games through their web interface. You have no access to the software to test it and compare it, and reverse-engineer it if necessary.

A great endgame, after some dazzling tactics. Yes that is our fish. It was good to have hope for a while. Yes Torch was good. Thanks Josip.

This is like a Computer funeral omg... Also I'm surprised Stockfish took the lead back, why was it weaker in the earier games? Maybe it didn't had the optimal settings or was it just the positions?

Fun fact: chess playing programs are written so the best moves are usually found within five seconds. In fact some developers say if an improvement to Elo cannot be found in five seconds of time it's not even used. Consequently these programs play "nearly as good" at blitz as they do at longer time controls.

Of course, the longer you let the engine run the stronger it gets, the rule of thumb is doubling the amount of time (or clock) yields about 75 Elo points.

@@carlkim2577 alright this is easier than writing my jbird so let's get to it ,your question said what happen which means to take place and or occur which it did and I said reason and it is the power of the mind to think, understand and form judgements by a process of logic in this case 2 principle logic's that's one or the other and or both and I don't have the details.
