Paul O’Grady was much loved by so many in this country. Even in the 90s he was one of the most loved comedians in the country. Lily Savage, Dame Edna, Dick Emery and most recently La Voix have brought such joy to viewers. Yet we are constantly told that we are intolerant of others different to us. Paul, I hope you are up in heaven smiling at the joy you are still bringing, and will continue to bring, every time we watch a repeat of your programmes. The FABULOUS Lily was the best drag Queen since Danny. We need real entertainers like these, but political correctness is throttling comedy nowadays. If something is funny, it's funny, so why censor it? Pretty soon we won't be allowed to speak out against the politicians without the risk of arrest. That's why I love You Tube!

Lily is a fully formed character like Dame Edna. Its not drag as he's playing an actual character who is a woman and the drag word isn't mentioned nor the fact that its a man. People buy into Lily as a real person and when you watch Lil your not thinking drag queen you buy into it as a person called Lily. Drag queen is a downgrade as Paul keeps up the character constantly and has a very detailed back story for Lily. There is no point in which the 2 come together. Lily and Dame Edna are the only 2 who have created real characters with lives and are able to make you forget its a man for an hour and that's a real skill. Even when interviewing Lily they go in and ask questions about this person Lily. I TOTALLY agree Lily really is amazing and I'd love to see her again !

I was born in St. Caths and spent my childhood between home in Claughton, my nans in 'Higher' Tranmere and my great aunts in Irby. It all seemed to start going down the nick in the 80's and although I still live here, mainly because I was left the house, It's only because I haven't the £ to move.

St. Caths looks terrible but the whole area is just a hotchpotch now....I remember when Church Road had some nice little shops and the people were so much more friendly. Then they demolished all the houses on Pearson Road... I used to go to Merseyside dance centre when I was little and really enjoyed spending my weekends at my nan and grandads but I know what you mean about the way the area is now. People aren't the same anymore...I remember my daughter wanted to go to the corner shop one dark evening and we were joking that she better pack some pepper spray and the butter knife (don't want to get done for having a dangerous weapon haha) before she left the house 😁.I have definitely turned into an old fart but I've been around here for 47yrs and seen its demise and it's sad, especially the lack of community spirit and don't get me started on downtown the way it is now, what a dump! I'll get off my soapbox before I get carried away 😁
