My average on 5x5 used to be 10-11 minutes but thanks to your tips i got an average of 5-6 minutes andnonce i got a sub 5 solve! Same story for 6x6 and 7x7, my 6x6 average used to be 20 minutes but now its 10-15 minutes, once i even got a sub 9 on my 6x6! My 7x7 seven average used to be 30 minutes max, but now i am solving between at 18-21 minutes and i got a sub 17 record!! And you inpired me to make my own KZbin channel, thanks man! Update: I've recently got my hands on the yj mgc 6x6 and now I've reduced 1-2 minutes off my average so it's at least 8-13 minutes, new update when I get a new 5x5 Update 2: I've got a sub 8 on my 6x6! I'm practicing to get a sub 7 Update 3: I DID IT! IVE GOT A SUB 7 ON MY 6x6! (Btw im getting my new 5x5 [the mgc one] tommorow so i hope i get a sub 4 or 3)

Hi J Perm For my 6x6 and 7x7 centers, i use another method than usual (bars) On each 6x6 center, i solve the 2x2 first (imagine the 4x4 cube centers). Then I pair the edges-center to solve it like a 5x5 (except the L2C) On each 7x7 center, i solve the 3x3 first (imagine 5x5 cube center). Then, i pair the edges-center and after i can solve the centers like a 5x5 (except the L2C) It's like redux because i pair the edges-center Sorry for bad English i'm French. Hope you will understand ^^

Agree with most of the points, but there were a few things I have experienced before and either seem interesting, or I have a different opinion. 0:34 This is cube preference, but this situation cannot happen to my AoShi GTSM at all, even if I'm being aggressive The cube either resists deformation or corner cuts right through when I cut 2x2. In addition, it's a lot faster (because of my magnet choice, mass produced version may be slightly slower), smoother, stabler, and just felt superior in every way compared to a Shadow I once burrowed, setup and played with for a while but later decided not to buy. But later I also burrowed the mass produced GTS and went back to my DIY GTS. 0:45 I' a red cross yau user, but I think colour neutral centers seems a bit easier on 7x7 because the centers are fixed and you dont' have to think about the next colour, while on 6x6 and 8x8 I found Yau is a bit easier because there is no need to simultaneously protect the middle bar and the 3/4 cross. 2:58 Must make sure there are no stuck pieces beforehand 8:01 I do that all the time 9:03 Works as an advanced method as well, but involves choosing between single/double slicing to influence the resultant 5x5 case. You did mention it though, but decided to focus on the beginner version to keep things simple. It's my main method due to using Yau5, so I already have the back 2 slots taken out when solving the 2 F2Ls. 10:52 Bad habit of mine, but I use this Z perm on 3x3 and 4x4 as well. 11:08 H perm is very annoying on big cubes, but on 5x5s with strong-enough magnets the 3x3/4x4 H perms can be easily performed. I do agree with using the whole upper segment of the ring finger instead of just the finger tip.

Yeah the aoshi GTS is great in this regard, I slightly prefer the shadow though due to flexibility. something about the gts big cubes that bothers me.

Just a heads up im watching this video again and if u or anyone hasnt realised u only need to do on comutator for the last 2 centers on 7x7 1. Leave the outer most left/right bar to solve last 2. Put a center edge adjacent of a middle center edge 3 . Line the 2 corners up an solve like a 5x5 4. Comutator
@bookandtheories2711 Жыл бұрын
Another useful technique (more so on 7x7) is during free slice only solve edges of one color as it makes looking for pieces a lot easier
@kayak87006 жыл бұрын
7:41, you don't need a comutater, just put the bar with the missing middle peice adjacent from the rest of the bar and do M, U2, M'. The maximum number of comunaters on 7x7 is 1

7:30 I feel like there is a better way to solve this issue without commutator. You can try using small middle slices like M', doing a U2 to turn the center pieces 180 degrees, and slicing back with a small M. If the middle piece wasn't opposite of the 2 other ones, then that is a sign that I will have to do commutator last.

Hi, I am a new cuber who recently started cubing from 2023. I watch the videos of J Perm because I understand it and now I learnt almost 2x2 to 5x5 cube very easily. I have a request that can you give a better solution for OLL and PLL parity cases for 4x4 to bigger cubes as it is quite different for all cubes and explain it very easy to learn
@shantanukulkarni88836 жыл бұрын
Is cubing beneficial? I know how to solve 2x2, 3x3 and have recently learned 4x4, but except enjoying personally resolving the cubes, I question that what's the benefit of it, am I just wasting my time? My PB on the 3x3 is around 40 seconds or maybe lower (I don't take it that seriously) And I am learning CFOP currently, so do you think I should spend my time to be better at it ? I haven't attended any sort of cubing event yet so I don't know many cubers except a few in my school.

Hey J Perm! I have the Moyu Mofang Jiaoshi 2x2, 3x3, 4x4 and 5x5. For the 5x5 what method should I use? I currently use the Redux method. Is that a good beginner method? Thanks, Ewan.

Redux is simpler, while Yau is probably the same speed but has different pros and cons. Either one is fine, as there are world class cubers for both methods.

J Perm thanks man! I’ll check out your yau5 and redux method vid. When I said that I currently use redux I meant that I use your beginner method which is kinda like redux.

Are there any good algs for 7x7 double parity? Like, when the outer wings are solved with the edge, but the inner wings are swapped, so that it looks like XOXOX The best choices I've been able to find so far are doing 5x5 parity twice, or using the slice move "pure parity" alg. Neither of these seem all that great.

I do reduction edges, for 6x6 it’s a 4x4 and 5x5, for 7x7 it’s two 5x5s.

Is it a video thing, or does his Wushuang and Shadow shades look different?
