Love your video's. May I ask why you choise was B&G?

Hi Piet, we had NKE on the last boat and found the software “clunky” and displays of poor quality and not easily readable in daylight. Also we had a B&G chart plotter and NKE struggled to communicate with that properly. So on balance we’d go B&G again, despite our teething problems with it. Thanks for asking!

@@PhiSailing 1. Do you know if you had the same problem as the B&G pilot of Cyclops? They had an issue as well. So two times in series? 2. I Agree with ou about the NKE display quality, but I have little bit more believe in the pilot itself (I could be wrong). What do you think? We are listed for JPK#19 and are happy with advice.

Exciting you're on the list! Very happy to share some of our experience as there's so much to consider when specking your boat. On 1: Cyclops we think had update issues. Our Triton problem was a well known mechanical one requiring an update. It was then perpetuated by a number of re-installation issues which could have been avoided by a B&G specialist. So in both cases, had JPK updated the plotters before installing, there would have been fewer problems. In both cases they also turned a carefully engineered watertight gasket into a mess by using silicone when none required. Our advice would be to get Teems to supervise the installation and update as necessary. On 2: We would choose B&G again especially now we understand it a bit more. It's powerful and has a multitude of functions that can cause problems because engaging them is easily accessible to the amateur owner. NKE doesn't allow that, which avoids many operator error issues. The factory is very keen on NKE, guess all French are!
