Susan recalls Rock fondly in interviews; she talks about them being reunited years later at an awards show or something.

Nancy Walker didn't appear in this pilot film, though. Her debut as part of the cast came in the first regular series episode, "Murder by the Barrel" (September 29, 1971).

And ! Dr. Smith from Lost in Space! I went to the SF Gas Building where the party was filmed, they know the pilot was filmed here and are very nice about letting you see it.

I noticed the "HAIGHT-ASHBURY" sign. Remember how recent all that Hippie-era stuff was, when this was made. Another era, folks.

Loved this show almost as much as _Columbo._ But when you heard the _NBC Mystery Movie_ theme come on it meant your 1) Weekend was up. 2) Bedtime, unless your folks were in a REALLY lenient mood. 3) Back to school in the morning... *Ugh!!*

The show was somewhat routine. What made the show work was the San Francisco location, which also worked so well in the Steve McQueen movie, "BULLITT". The other 2 very important factors, the beautiful theme music by jerry Fielding, and the great chemistry between Rock Hudson and Susan St. James. I should mention the voice of Susan St. James. Wow, what a voice.

@@lyndarichards7778 Lynda, I agree. The chemistry between Elizabeth Taylor and Rock Hudson was wonderful. I think the best leading lady for Rock was Doris Day. They had something special in the way of chemistry.

I LIKE the Hallmark Mystery movies, but they are not quite up to the quality of the NBC Mystery Movies. They made it look so simple back then.

Loved the theme and I also liked the Wayne Fitzgerald title sequence, with Sally and Mac over the San Francisco scenery. About a dozen years later, Fitzgerald revamped the opening of the soap opera One Life to Live - note the similarities! kzbin.info/www/bejne/jXjVc6qvp8xrgJI
