I didn't even need a portfolio to get hired. Extremely important to know how to network and market your self and your attitude on LinkedIn. That is how I landed my job. How I performed during the interview determined my salary which was above average for juniors. Keep it up guys! You'll land your jobs soon!

Very good point. Networking is the best way to accomplish anything in this field really. I didn’t have a network when I started and had to leverage my portfolio to talk to the right people. Now a days I don’t really need it.

This! It's so important to have a LinkedIn presence. It continuously helped me land jobs. The other part is your presentation (resume and interviews) if you are able to say the things that they want to hear whilst staying honest you'll be golden.

But, I'm just not working on any projects and don't have much to speak about so, idk. I'll need to figure it out and try to be of value to others so I can continue building my network.

One I made sure of is I added lots of extra css touches, link hovers with transition, buttons too, use boxshadow instead of borders so it remains the same size, alter the scroller, make it look polished even if the color scheme is understated it can look polished, for front end anyway

I know this an old video but Question: About having your foot on so many technologies I don't know if this is as common in other countries but there's a big business for companies here that make low quality it does work software and upkeep them for each client-which is what I do- so you end up having to learn a new tech stack everytime as a result I've used basically all main stream databases and a bunch of frameworks at work. I can't say I've worked with any of them for years but I have used them in a professional setting.... so where does this put me? Should it be on my portfolio?

It’s definitely similar in Canada (where I’m from) and the US once you have some experience under your belt. Most of the viewers here are just learning and have no experience or credentials to back them up. That’s where this stuff becomes so important.

Of course, you will have a higher chance to land a job if you love something you do but these kinds of videos are just misleading for junior developers or people who want to get into this field

Web Development is really oversaturated... And now Corporations are starting to outsource Web Development jobs with this Remote Work trend.. And the pay is not as it used to be.. I start to question myself if all this headache and effort and time that I put it was even worth it.!!??.!! I think I was fooled by all this KZbin influencer that wore promising me the moon if I become a web developer, which was a lie :'(
