The best karateka to have ever fought in MMA. I'm thankful to guys like him, Michael Page, Gunnar Nelson and a host of others who brought some much needed variety to the game.

@@1Zb109 To my knowledge, yes. Although I named the other guys because they started expertly implementing the bladed, fencer-like stance I like to watch. Edit: Gerard Gordeau was probably the first karateka in the UFC, but the others found more consistent success.

It’s crazy how much Joe repeats himself from podcast to podcast. He must talk about the calf kick mentioning Benson Henderson in nearly every MMA show - Masvidal, Edwards, Poirer, Thompson…

He’s talking to them not you . Sorry .
@corbinlowrie34065 ай бұрын
Instead of getting upset about it, maybe take it as a sign to go watch Benson's fights and see why he keeps getting mentioned. Joe treats fights like good music. He watches them multiple times. You don't memorize all the words to a song after listening to it once. Maybe if you rewatched his fights instead of relying on your memory from the past, you will be reminded of why he gets so much praise from Joe. That's a huge honor to be regarded so highly by a man who understands fighting more than most people will ever truly appreciate. That's like someone saying your favorite song shouldn't be your favorite just because they don't understand the lyrics as deeply as you do
