Not too many positives from this weekend, but I want to extend my gratitude to @araieu and @alpinestars for keeping me safe during yesterday’s crash, and to my crew for building a brand new bike for this morning. A huge, heartfelt thanks to the fans who wished me well, brought gifts, and traveled from back home. Italian SBK fans are some of the best. We toughed it out today and finished 8th-10th. We go again!

A year before Josh Hayes went on his 3 championship win streak he said he was crying in his trailer and saying to himself "I can't believe I've got this factory ride and my career is over" because he just could not figure out the bike. it's an incredible story how he was able to turn it around and I recommend anyone give it a listen. it's possible to come back when it seems all hope is lost: Off Track with Carruthers and Bice - # 244 Josh Hayes (the journeyman segment).

my guess is because minute differences in the bikes. when Jake Gagne did a one off race in world superbike, he finished around 20th. I think the main thing was the difference in tires. my guess is the bike just feels completely different. so, the MA data probably wouldn't help for WSBK

Blame JT, dont let him interview you on the grid😜You and Mcphee. Sofa racers here at home are conflicted. We truly support you but find ourselves questioning the bike, not you, just look at Moto, this model kicked ass but now😮. Don't let it define you, as said your not a 6x champ for nothing. 🎉 Hey take some inspiration from Marc Marquez, he was down but not out. Roll on Donnington.

Hi, how much of the issues are down to a poor calendar this year , nearly 2 months between races. testing is OK but nothing beats race miles on a new bike. more racing i would say would give you better data and more flow being race ready on the bike. Keep the hard work going , you are still one of best in the world

Really felt for you Sir. We do hope everything comes together for the next round and you get that podium win. Can I ask tho, do you have a handle bar mounted rear brake on the right side, or is it 100% redundant as you said. 👍🏻💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻❤🇬🇧

I was expecting you'd be fast from the get go, at least the fastest yamaha on the grid. Cause I thought while not the fastest, R1 would be the easiest bike to handle amongst the inline four. But damn, looks like that bike just not meant for you. I hope I'm wrong though

It's never easy. Your 6 World Championships weren't either, even if our (Spectators ) memory sometimes forgets how much hard work and sacrifices those kind of achievements entail. Facing the lows straight up and with honesty is the mark of the great. Not giving it all is the only failure. You have the respect of those who matter, including your new bosses or sponsors. They know who you are. You and your loved ones do too. That is what will transcend after the Mics & Spotlights turn their attention to new "Favorites", it's always been like that. The great Giacomo is a nice picture of how to handle just that. Cheer up !!

Yamaha cannot make the diff. Honda same. Problem with Japanese manufac. Are not flexible in change. You see European brands adapt and change the bike to the rider. Japanese say, you as rider adapt to the bike... This is for years the same. Also in motogp. If yamaha do not change, it will be a tough ride for rea.

after riding a CBR for a decade at my snail pace for sure - riding my brother's R1 was like relearning how to ride, it was such an alien feeling (especially the engine braking as it goes w slowing down and downshifting) I never took to it, the engine characteristics on the cross plane Yamaha is totally foreign territory, I can't imagine at JR's speed trying to get it down and be successful !!
