Wow, what a schedule! It's like wrestling meets military. Two of my favorite things. The discipline and time management.

My 14 yr old nephew is going to JROB camp this summer. He's excited for it but i worry it may burn him out on wrestling afterwards. I know it will only help him in highschool and life though. #Only The Strong

This is no doubt a very grueling and challenging camp. I suspect it is more about developing mental toughness than making significant physical gains. I don't think there is enough rest and recovery time built into the schedule for maximum physical benefit. Six hours of sleep is not enough for the body to recover from this level of work. It seems more like a military boot camp that emphasizes mental toughness and developing a will to survive extreme challenges than a sports camp that strives for physical growth and skills development.

You nailed it..I see a lot of wrestlers lose matches because they break mentally.
@turbothrottletrouble42175 жыл бұрын
Yep, no rest days
@todddole58445 жыл бұрын
Exactly! Give them a little more time to sleep. Let the body recover. If you are tired the entire time(not bc of bad cardio) but bc they won’t let you recover, how do you think they can actually focus and concentrate. I get it’s mental toughness as well, but seriously.
@wagner91115 жыл бұрын
B-Rad Malibu You DONT have a clue.... the military does this through its training. It’s only when you are in over your head and drowning that you realize what it takes to survive under pressure
@nicolasbermudez96532 жыл бұрын
Also it would make more sense to make it week so that way they have a personal life as well. But 28 days! That’s a whole month away from home. I could never possibly find the time for that

Ok so I'm a girl and I want to start wrestling, and I've told my parents and they said I need to prove that I'm even eligible. I have little experience, and I have only watched matches on yt and stuff like that. I'm in 7th grade, 5'4, and 122.3. Any advice?? Thanks

Sheridan Gapp just go to practice in school. Honestly you’re very young so just keep attending the practices and start running nothing fast just normal pace jogs maybe 1-2 miles every other day. In high school you may need to do more, but make sure you’re never comfortable
