Since last time, I finished FF9 and started Radiant Historia Perfect Chronology. I enjoyed FF9, with my favorite part definitely being Vivi’s character. Radiant Historia has been really good so far. The story is intriguing, and the gameplay aspect of returning to previous moments in the story really reminds me of the 999 games, which is always a good thing in my book.

I spent most of March completing the platinum in Granblue then started Grandia which I just finished yesterday. Managing to get reprint copies of Lulua and Nelke ordered has put me in the mood for some Gust games so planning to start Nights of Azure next and hope to get through chapter 6 in Resna as well.

This was such a great rundown of games you got to experience and enjoy in the month of March. I finished Evil West, Word Quest and Werewolf: The Apocalypse - Earthblood as well as going back and doing the DLC that came out for God of War Ragnarok and Spider-Man 2. Once that was done, I began my journey into Elden Ring, and that is what I'm currently playing now (as I'm working towards my 200th Platinum on Playstation, and don't want to accidently pop another one before it is done). Another incredible video. Keep up all the great work - hope all is well and looking forward to the next amazing, insightful, informative and entertaining video from you and the channel. Have a fantastic day!!!!

I played some Mary Skelter 2 still haven't finished it but hey that's just the life of a Uni student before picking up Unicorn Overlord, when I did my gaming time was consumed by it. So happy I picked it up day 1 and those feelings of joy playing the game pretty much didn't change and last night I finished it. My overall playtime is around 130hrs and theirs still a tiny bit to do with the postgame. I can't recommend it enough in a lot of ways I prefer it over Fire Emblem and level of player customization with squad setups is through the roof adding in gear you get as you progress which can almost re-purpose an entire classes. So yeah the game is kind of great.

Sadly, a lot of real life got in the way of my March gaming plans, but I am close to the end of Link's Awakening DX, and I'm excited to finally finish a game that's been a favorite for so long. For April, probably looking at spending some time with Final Fantasy IX on PSone, which I started on something of a whim in March after losing an old save file (well, sort of. It was a whole big mess with my PS3...) and became enchanted with. Also, I implore you to read the original Sand Land manga, even if you don't think you'll get the game; it isn't very long, but it is quite a treat
@martinde-serres87248 ай бұрын
Oof, I had a worse time with FF9, but it was my physical copy, more specifically the last disc which kept crashing as I was reaching the final bosses, which kinda sucks as I couldn't finish it back then Thankfully, the recent version on modern consoles should be good enough for me to FINALLY finish while also dicking around with those sweet cheats that made combat VERY fast compared to the OF PS1 version (I have the Switch version because screw PS trophies/Xbox achievements getting disabled when using specific cheats they literally warn players of it lol) I too approve the mention of reading the Sand Land manga sa it is one of Toriyama's best post-Dragon Ball works and it's also getting an anime movie and series soon as well as the game
@HybridAngelZero8 ай бұрын
@@martinde-serres8724 I so feel you on this, my childhood Breath of Fire III disc wouldn't load past a certain point, it would just play the area music and softlock, and I didn't get a new copy until a few years ago. And while I do want my first full FFIX playthrough to be on PSone because I love the console (and if any of my systems break, the Memory Cards are autonomous) I do still have a digital PS4 copy juuuust in case xD

I also punched through Intergrade ahead of FF7 rebirth. Also played ff7 rebirth once a week while targeting some other side games (Cocoon, Rise of the Ronin). I'm a little further than you. Big smiles on my face. I'll probably play it slowly over the course of the year while targeting other games. I'm hoping to target Sandland for April. I like open world games, but I think Sandland is going to be very low-key - a podcast game, of sorts. There's also a bunch of games are coming out on PS extra that I want to try this month. I still won't target the Trails series until the bring the Sky series to Playstation. Might happen. I have hope. Legend of Legacy looks interesting to me, but it's so far down on my priorities that I'll never get to it ahead of other stuff. There's so many rpgs right now it's impossible to keep up. I'm targeting SMT V and Re:fantazio for the remainder of the year, but if I have more time, I might snag a couple others. I still want to go back to finish Legend of Dragoon and Octopath2, lol backlogs.

Geez, this video really reminds me of just how much I have to catch up on. "FF7 Rebirth" literally took the entirety of March, and a bit of April, to finish. I can't say getting the platinum was entirely worth it but at least I can say I'm done. Though that said, I have also come across some very bad news regarding a developer I like so that's just been a general bummer.
@JRPGJungle8 ай бұрын

I've been playing a lot of super long RPGs so it feels like I'm not progressing at all, which is not true. I've mostly played Yakuza: Like a Dragon and FF7 Rebirth during March. With some coop sessions of Baldurs Gate 3 in between. Made some progress in Roots of Pacha on PC when I was at my parents place for easter. These are all continuing in April. And because I didn't finish any game at all in February and March, I started a shorter indie JRPG: Manafinder. So now I'm juggling 5 games which doesn't make it better xD I'm still trying to keep my new years resolution of not increasing my backlog. It's been hard because there are sooo many cool games releasing. But I just don't have the time. I'm keeping an eye on the prices for Unicorn Overlord and Granblue Fantasy Relinkthough, and I'll wait for some reviews on Eiyuden Chronicles. Also super excited about the console release of Dave the Diver in a few days, which I'll have to skip if I want to keep my new years resolution. Anyway, if I ever finish the games I'm currently playing (probably not in April, I don't think that would be realistic), then I'll be going for Tales of Berseria, Trails from Zero and Dragonquest 11 next!

You got such a busy month! I like all games you played. We're frog owner now in legend of legacy 😍 so cute!!!!! (However, it seems the frog can't learn shield spells so if you using him as a tank, it won't be great, he's better has a dmg dealer). However i did get 3 games over on 3 days near the end of my playtime. So i gave up on this game. It's very charming tho. Didnt finish ff7 remake, so rebith is far away. Unicorn overloard on paper is awesome, but nowaday it's like my brain is weak. It feels complicated to manage all those unit set up... So i also gave up on it for now. I might be too tired to play games where you have to think. Still playing star rail and resliana. Getting burn out from star rail atm, but i can't wait to get those juicy update in resliana! So glad Izana managed to improve herself and overcome her struggle 🥰 i just wish i could play it on ps5.

I feel you. I have a specific set of games I play when life gets hectic. I've recently been playing Roots of Pacha which I started last year during a particularly stressfull time at work. It's a Stardew Valley clone, but doesn't have combat. So basically you can't die, can't do anything wrong, no need to think about strategies or crafting/managing equipment. Just go around, plant some plants, talk to some people, water your plants, walk around and discover stuff.

Still playing FF7 Remake. With Gran Blue Fantasy I have a question. Do you need to see the anime to understand the story? I’ve gotten conflicting answers on this and was wondering what your take was.
@JRPGJungle8 ай бұрын
I haven’t seen the anime myself and I feel like I’m understanding it. I wouldn’t say I know the characters that deeply, but to me, it seems like a self-contained story (they have a glossary that you can toggle if anything is confusing mid-story too). So yeah, with no smartphone or anime experience with it, I haven’t had an issue :3
@DavidRBrown78 ай бұрын
I played GranBlue Fantasy Relink which had a great story. However, I found the post-game to be rather long, repetitive, grindy and hard. I never managed to get the Platinum for it (which is the first in 150 ish games). So, my amazing streak has been broken and not happy about that. I have also been playing Tokyo Mirage Sessions. I just started Trinity Trigger which is a strange little game. I haven't touched FF7 Rebirth because I have had the weird thought of .... maybe I should wait for the final part to come out.

@TrulyEikonic8 ай бұрын
From its boring mini-game heavy content and poor storytelling, FF7 Rebirth felt so draining to go through. Upon finishing the story, the first question in my mind was "Am I even gonna pre-order the final game in this trilogy?" Lol. Such an odd game that felt so much worse than it should've been. Tried out Tales of Zestiria and couldn't bear it for more than an hour, so I gave up. Literally had absolutely nothing going for it. Trying to finish Rise of the Ronin before the last FF16 DLC comes out next week, but I don't think I can. And then Stellar Blade is likely gonna take over my free time when it launches the week after.

It's surprising to me to hear a few people enjoying Yuffie. To me, she's utterly intolerable. I think they did an amazing job with Cloud and Tifa and Barret and yet face planted with Yuffie. She's one-note, unrealistically obsessed with materia like a cereal mascot fixated on their cereal above even their own safety, and the writers seem to confuse teenagers with little kids... Yuffie doesn't act like a teenager. She acts like an 8 year old. And they do this with multiple characters. They ruined Red XIII, once he changes his demeanor he suddenly acts more like a preteen than anything above preteen. And an immensely infuriating reoccurring side quest NPC who's just like Yuffie - entirely unrealistic. I get everyone has different taste. I just have difficulty seeing the world through someone else's eyes, particularly those who enjoy Yuffie and the like. Lol

Thanks for the great content as always, Tara! Looks like I underestimate my plans from the last few months as a LOT of games took prio over the J/RPGs I wanted to play, but I'll try to include at least 1 per month so I don't get too fatigued too quick with the genre lol Thankfully, I was able to setup my PS4 in remote so I can try and squeeze some progression during lunch breaks though RPGs weren't meant for them tbh hahaha Also, as I was checking my JRPGs I have physically for my 3DS for any update to be downloaded for when I'll finally get to them, I was in shock to find out my copy of Persona Q1 stopped working completely :'( I have one of the few specific serial numbers who have defects which is why my 3DS couldn't read it at all, so I hope my other JRPGs don't suffer the same fate because trying to find replacement copies will cost me a LOT of money online
@JRPGJungle8 ай бұрын
Great to hear about your PS4 game progress, but sorry to hear about your Persona Q! I only got 3DSs towards the end of its life cycle (and have barely used them), so I didn’t even know that was a thing. I’m always crossing my fingers Q and Q2 will makes its way to Switch, so I hope either that happens or you get it sorted (for not too much money!) someday!
@martinde-serres87248 ай бұрын
@@JRPGJungle Thanks, Tara! :) I too agree they need to bring more 3DS JRPGs to modern consoles now that they cost so much physically on Amazon and/or eBay Of course those made by Nintendo will go exclusively to the Switch or ''Switch 2'' while the others should be offered to every modern platforms available The only caveat about bringing them elsewhere is of course the rebuilding to fit single screens, though that was what MADE them standout among the rest on both the DS and 3DS: having 2 screens where the bottom touchscreen can immerse players into the games the same way the motion controls did for the Wii
