If it wasn't for Brad Stevens assembling this team I don't know where these players and team would be. He deserved coach of the year so many times and now he's a GM incredible. He put this team together so amazing we couldn't do it without his support.

Tatum and Brown aren’t the best go to guys in the NBA but they play really well together add on that good bench, good coach, thirsty culture and starters that all play their roles excellently. It’s a recipe for success. Teams are doing it easier than ever these days, just look at the history.

Let's not forget about Danny Ainge, either. He really helped build the foundation of this team with that Brooklyn trade 11 years ago, and then completely NAILING those draft picks by drafting Jaylen Brown and Jayson Tatum at number 3 overall in back-to-back years. And then when Brad took over in the front office he got us over the hump with those brilliant trades for Derrick White, Kristaps Porzingis and Jrue Holiday. Ainge kind of lost his luster at the end with the Celtics, but let's not forget if it wasn't for him we probably wouldn't be sitting here today celebrating the title

Lets not forget that 3 years ago, when Brad was transferring to become President of Ops for the Celtics after leaving as a HC, certain people like Stephen A. Smith had reacted to the news by saying "It's beautiful to be a white guy", implying that due to the COVID-ridden season of the 2020-21 season, Brad was given this title simply b/c he is a white man. @@von8298 Stevens and Ainge before him, who both hired Stevens before that and then had the humility to step down and let Stevens take his job. Stevens was an absolutely brilliant coach, he got them to the eastern finals when they had absolutely no business being there, he made Isaiah Thomas an All NBA player. He could've coached this team to a ring, but apparently he's just as good as a GM, and at finding other coaches as brilliant as he is.

'know who they are'. Subtle but correct criticism on Marcus Smart, who did not know who he was. He leveraged his defensive leadership role into taking hero shots, playing outside his role, to the detriment of the team. Getting rid of him is a huge positive in itself. Getting Jrue as a replacement is just a big bonus.
