JS Bach Air played with Minimoog Synthesizer and ARP Solina String Ensemble.
Minimoog runs with Lintronics Midi-Interface and Ibanez AD-80 analog Delay. Solina Ensemble with EHX Small Stone phaser.

Not the way I used to hear with a string ensemble (violin, viola & cello). Very original. Has a nice sustain effect on the long notes.

Pardon me, but...you Are aware that Carlos iS Wendy...are you not!?. A stunning achievement which was beautiful And uniquely eye opening. i remember our classical centric father...almost 3 generations removed from being current Then...an exegetical minister, and a classical organist very much in love w/ Händel & Bach. My brother brought home Switched on Bach! Taking a break from school...we blasted the Entire album, on a great stereo...it sounded Great at volume too! Alternating W. Carlos & Led Zepplin. My father came home from teaching College prep. english & Seth turned my father on to Switched On Bach- Air on the G string [which i had played on violin] , & The Brandenburg Concerto. The wildest thing was that my father 'got' the stunning musicianship. As new and ground breaking as it was...the respect for Bach and the music shone through. This was also the time of PDQ Bach , & Winnie The Pooh translated into Latin which my father read to us! [ Piglet became 'Porkelus'] Gentle good humor, and a Cutting Edge was the order of the day. W. Carlos chose the perfect time to release this instant classic /hit/ masterpiece!

@AlainHubert Sorry to reply to an old post. If I had a Moog it would be my first choice for bass duty on this type of recording. Heck, moog bass is pretty epic anytime.

And to think... when the synth first came out of the lab, 'people' were worried it would try to replace the orchestra. XD The Orchestra hasn't gone away, synth's have improved tremendously (they can play chords now) LOL and the sound has improved. God bless Robert Moog!

Not Really, although G. Brooker of Procol Harum claims he was inspired by "Air". "Air" goes through a lot more changes, rather than repeating the same 16 bar sequence over and over,... check out what happens comparing the two scores, first put into the same key, different at the forth bar chordally, and Brooker/ Fisher, never use the diminished 7th chord change, and the relative minor sounding part. Wow, that's the same set up I used to have, 2 mini moogs, the Arp, and of course, the OB8. Are you still using the same synths? I sold it all, now use the Korg Kronos which is beyond amazing! Great performance, brings back a lot of memories!

Very nice rendition! But I'm curious: what instrument was playing the bass line ? And who was playing it ? And it seemed like Wendy had more work to do with all those chords, than Walter playing the one-note-at-a-time melody line! LOL! Just kidding...

That's not accurate. Aside from the microphone, the quality of the instruments is faithful to the 80s and the accuracy of the performers is good.

I love both too and I think this sounds quite good. This recording is affected by the room reverb but in a studio this would hold up nicely.
