as a violinist I have learned a lot from this fantastic, musical performance
@user-dv6vb8nt3w Жыл бұрын
I fully agree with you. i am also a violinist. I learn from the original violin version as well, and from the versions for classical guitar, for piano ans how here, for harp. Busonis piano version is unfortunately too loud and bombastic for me, how the organ version. Naturally, for violin is the best one, then follows the harp version and then guitar and cello. Unused for me is the depth, the deep tonal position, of the guitar version and the cello version.

You know a great piece of music when its sounds, on every instrument, as if it were composed for that instrument.

Beautiful, I have yet to hear Chaconne played on any instrument without being moved to tears, thank you so much.

I tend to agree with you, having just listened to a version played on a koto, but there is a version out there on electric bass that might be the exception that proves the rule.

I love the arpeggiated chords, so naturally beautiful on the harp.

Sicher eine der auf einer Hand zu zählenden schönsten Harfeninterpretation der Chaconne, lebendig ohne Manierismus und... einfach quintessent!

This really is a Masterclass on how to play Bach, from every standpoint - stylistic, technical, musical, etc. Love the section at 8:35 in particular, because of the countermelody, but this is truly incredible, exceptional in every way. Thank you for sharing this!

This version is apparently based on Busoni's arrangement for piano

Thank you for this comment; I was about to skip over this piece as a curiosity, but based on your comment, skipped to that point, and for the first time heard the main theme at that point, in the base. Usually the arpeggiation dominates at that point.

OK, now I'm going to have to check out if the countermelody is in the Bach or merely implied.

One of the most sublime pieces of music ever written. What a divine performance! I heard notes and harmonies in this that I've never heard before, despite having known it for years. Thank you for playing it so beautifully!

there are a lot of new notes in this arrangement for sure. The violin only has 4 strings after all.

Grałem Chaconne na gitarze basowej i na gitarze elektrycznej. Wiem, jakie to niesamowite wyzwanie, by to arcydzieło opowiedzieć na harfie. Najwyższy szacunek artystyczny!

na basowej to grałeś? hmm ciekawe, da rady to zagrać na 4 strunach ? ja uczę się tego na klasyku. jest wyzwanie !

Well, it’s got 25K, which is a whole lot more people who have listened to this performance than there would’ve been back in the days before recording technology existed. Most classical musicians in the early 19th century and earlier would’ve died obscure, with only a handful of people having ever heard them perform, even if they were insanely talented. Only a few got famous, the ones we know and still talk about today. As classical music enthusiasts we should be thankful for the present zeitgeist.

You can hear the 5th partial F# at the very end even though only D's are being played.

The presence of this arrangement is not merely magnificent; it is an embodiment of overwhelming authority that transcends the realms of artistic excellence, technical proficiency, and interpretative depth. This singular presence in itself suffices to warrant her an higher appraisal, surpassing the conventional metrics of artistic and technical evaluation. It emanates from an intricate synthesis of profound understanding and fervent passion for the art form, thereby instilling in both the audience and the performer an indelible impact. Through her performances, she not only demonstrates technical mastery and insightful interpretation but also infuses her renditions with a distinctive essence, thereby leaving an enduring impression upon me. This presence, thus, forms the nucleus of her performances, adeptly conveying the quintessence of music and eliciting profound emotional responses.

Admire the virtuosity, and it's such a great piece to hear any time, but it feels to me a bit stilted by trying too hard to make it romantic. Should let Bach's rhythmic drive flow and allow the music to tell its own story, in my opinion.
