At this time my highest admiration to you from Germany! I watched alot of your videos and find your spiritful zelebrations of Bach's work absolutely stunning! And I use your videos also to show other people how cheap it can be possible to build a technical setup for a grandious work, for driving their motivation up. On the other hand, I would have sved the money for Hauptwerk, using Grandorgue instead and spend it to better manuals (Doepfer d3m e.g.). Maybe worth a tought. Thank you so much for all this! KZbin is so full of trash but this here is really the brightest side of youtube, here does the sun shine!

Thank you ! Actually I already owned one of the Behringers for many years so I just decided to buy a second one when I started the Hauptwerk project. I still use it sometimes in other non-classical music productions for which I need the extended controller abilities (pitch bend, modulation, sliders and knobs...) that the Doepfer doesn't have.

OK, you seem to be happy with your "red pastic bombers", I read that others feel it's keys hard to push. What about you looking arround for getting a Doepfer for a day or so to test it out? If you would find it to play far better, then you could change your setup and use the red bombers for your other music only. The D3M costs € 444,- at Thomann in Germany as an example. Another question: ever played a virtual harpsichord on your setup? :) @Joachim, ich verstehe nicht ganz, welches technische Talent dafür nötig sein soll. Eine Klaviatur mit einem PC zu verbinden, kann eigentlich nicht so schwer sein. Und das einzig wirklich teure daran ist ein MIDI-taugliches Orgelpedal, als Software nimmt man GrandOrgue, die kostet gar nichts.

I am sure that they are better, but I can't afford them and as you say, I am happy with my Behringers (which both come from Thomann by the way). I only have one small harpsichord sample set (sonus paradisi Ruckers demo) but no recordings planned as I don't feel comfortable with the technique.

Xavier, oh yes, that beloved topic of money. If I would be a rich guy, I would promptly help you, but I already support another young pianist since years, beeing an English. But I will always think on you, if any random opportunity crosses my way. By myself I always tried to get all things cheaper, so as an example, when I decided to take piano lessions despite beeing already 50+, I decided to buy only the best possible piano action and so choosed the Kawai VPC1. Listed to 1.300 Euros in all shops, I simply asked a piano dealer for a good price, if he would line the instrument directly from the importer to me without having any work with me and so I got it with 200 Euros less. Always try it! And from your setup-video I can see, you are really not a guy with two left hands, I admire, how you made a little paradise from almost nothing! You know, how to hold a soldering iron and this will always help you to save money. @Joachim, ja dass die Orgelbässe alle schweineteuer sind, das ist leider wahr. Ich hatte mir deshalb überlegt, so einen ohne MIDI (alte Heimorgeln kriegt man oft geschenkt) zu midifizieren, indem ich einfach ein spottbilliges oder sogar kostenloses MIDI-Keyboard hernehme, dessen Tastenkontakte einfach zum Pedal führe, das müsste doch auch funktionieren. Wenn man auf Teufel komm raus will, findet sich immer eine Lösung.

It is normally common for organist to perform with partitura, but you take the path of pianist, which i *applaud* you sincerely. Is it possible to put a score holder at the top Where your monitor now sitz?

Yes it is, but most of the time I scan my scores and use a pdf reader.

No mistakes, totally memorized, musically performed. How many hours do you practice? I wonder if memorization comes naturally for you or whether you’ve got to work at it in pieces.

Thank you ! I practice one or two hours a day in average. Memorization is just like playing "Simon". When you feel ready, close the book and see how far you can go. When you get stuck, read and try again... Bach's pieces are not that long. Of course it will be really helpful il you have a very good ear and extended knowledge of music theory :)

I use a pair of ESI Aktiv 05 for monitoring but you can't hear them in the video, all the recording is done internally within Hauptwerk.
