JS Murasame DD-101 sails into port Yokosuka

The Murasame-class destroyer is a class of destroyer of the Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force. As the second generation of general-purpose destroyers, nine were built between 1991 and 1997 based on the Mid-Term Defense Program (2003 Mid-Term Defense Program and 2008 Mid-Term Defense Program). The construction cost of the flagship was 60.9 billion yen.
Along with the advanced Takanami-class (10-13DD), Akizuki-class (19-21DD), and Asahi-class (25, 26DD), they are the standard component ships of the escort fleet.
