The homeless problem in LA and other areas is really bad. Almost everyone I knew and met there confessed to being homeless at one time or another but we did at least have cars to sleep in. I imagine the situation being much worse doing that without a car. The make shift tents and boxes on the streets was a sad sight.

Also I recall at the time they had set up a "tent city" at the city center. So if you went there to do anything for permits, drivers license etc you had to deal with being barraged with homeless begging for money and cigarettes. It was astounding how many people were living like that. I guess they allow this there as there is no where else to put them. In other areas there are woods etc to hide them. Not in the city though.

@mauricehumphrey5453 жыл бұрын
It is NOT due to any of those things. It is the result of LAZINESS by the people who are homeless (I used to be one of them), and, it is the result of the community not doing enough to offer alternatives. If these people committed to getting off the streets and making their lives better, they could do it. Then the community could do it's part by providing more education, jobs and opportunities for everyone. Trust me, it CAN be done. There is plenty of blame to go around for this shit, but, it starts with the individual person who is homeless.

The US is not the only place this is happening, its all over the world. OK part of the reason is globalization. We have given our jobs to China and made them prosperous and shot our own foot. @@reefer2917 *most prosperous nation* USA has the highest GDP as a nation. It also has vast natural resources. *15% owning everything* Income inequality. USA has a problem with this as it has the highest income inequality among the industrialized nations. It is a big problem. However, the private ownership of the train is not an issue since we do not use it. And it is not true as AMTRAK is funded by the federal government. Private ownership is not a problem as long as there is competition and good service. Government works with the private companies to provide services to the non-profitable areas. *Healthcare* We do have a universal healthcare. However, due to the massive illegal immigration, the law makes it so that you have to register for it. You cannot simple get free care as other nations do. The real problem is the cost. We pay the highest cost for a mediocre healthcare. *Homelessness* We have a government program for everything including food, healthcare and housing. The drugs and mental illness prevents many people from taking advantage of it. For example, we had covid relief problem during the pandemic. Unfortunately, you had to sign up for it. LEGAL immigration is more of a problem than illegal immigration. Each year we legally immigrate ~2 million people into the USA. The vast majority are from south of the US border. Most of these immigrants are the “poorest of the poor”, who are illiterate in their own language. ~70% of Latino immigrants get on some form of welfare. Texas is projected to go blue by 2028, due to massive legal immigration of Latinos from south of the border. These Latinos will vote for themselves the hardworking tax payers money. When Texas goes blue, it will never be red again due to redistricting. A blue Texas will rapidly follow in California’s footsteps.

This is the result of everything the democrats are doing. It is a plan..the great reset. Take everything away from the people so they will be thankful when the government throws the people a loaf of bread. Shameful....this in just 1.5 years. The democrats destroying business on purpose.

Hi, china has nothing to do with those homeless people in US. The unfairness and inequality in wealth distribution within America is the cause of it. BTW, the war against Afghanistan in the past 20 years have spent almost $6trillion, people who benefiting from it probably Lockheed Martin.
