First of all I want to thank you for posting these green screen tutorials , they have been very helpful to me ,being new to UN4 I have aspirations of using chroma key in the UN4 engine to create videos of my music to post on KZbin, while this method allows more control of the image it does not seem to allow you to place it in the environment,so for me it looks like your previous method is still the way to go , unless of course there is a way this can be tweaked !!?being a bit late to this process and 68 years old I know very little of this blue print process And rely on the knowledge from great folk like yourself who share with the community thank you Trevor 👍😊

Hey ... Great Tutorial... If you didnt find it yourself, yet - i am pretty sure, that the host you are talking about at around minute 21 is in fact a plane. But keyed with composure. If you add a media plate to your composure-comp, give it your footage - or live input, key it within the Plate and add a render target asset under output, you will be given the option to output your mediaplatecomp to a rendertarget. Just create a rendertarget, put it on the output slot and create a material from it. Dont forget to change it to translucent and connect the alpha of your Texture to the Opacity ... here you go ... Hope that is what you where looking for ... all the best from Hamburg

actually that adds a lot of the post processing effects (i.e. anti-alicing and motion blur) that make people look odd. on the up hand it allows reflections... but if anyone knows how to do this without adding the post processing that would be most helpful

Aren't there some plugins to make the green background easier to download to set the keyframe on the tracking camera and to render the video with a tone of some 5 minutes in mp4 format? As in aftereffects for example ?? I ask this because I want my friend whom I recorded on a green background playing the guitar so I would like to make a video for him.

Nice video thank you! if you already have pre keyed green screen footage, can you just drop this into a UE scene do you know please? In Blender this is one click, import images as planes and you can have video inside your CG environment. Is there any way to do this in UE4/5 do you know please? As all the methods i have seen to date, seem overly complicated for something so simple.

Hey there... I'm wondering how I can learn, in my apartment, where there are no green screens or high-end cameras, how to bring in a 3D set created In Maya and make it a live virtual set in Unreal for a live broadcast?
@mattd2129
@mattd2129 3 жыл бұрын
Hi. The way I did a composite like you query at the end using composure is to do following: Create plane where you want your green screen dude to be and then slap your video material onto the plane. Then instead of having a CG for background and a Media layer component for video, have both as in CG layer components but in different layers. Assign CG BG as usual and put media layer plane in second Layer and then assign that in your second CG Layer component. Then in the details panel for the Media CG layer component go to transform/compositing passes and add a nee pass then set that pass to multi pass keyer. Then proceed as normal but using the Media CG layer element in place of media plate element. Good luck

Hi! Did you happen to find a solution to this? I'm trying to figure that out as well. At the moment I think you need to create different comps for each camera angle/shot to get different green screen footage to only show for the matched camera, but I'm still figuring it out. Would be great to get it to work with "takes" cus it would be crazy easy to edit using takes, would be kinda same as multicam edit in Resolve. Almost as easy as just changing cameras in the edit which could be done if what you subscribed would work! Really curious to hear if you have any findings on this.

Great stuff...I'm still not sure whether I'd have the need to key something in UE4 over Davinci...UE4 is great for camera 3D ease, and obviously all the 3D environments, which is not quite as easy in Davinci, but you can get finer chroma key results in Davinci and can still track the 3D environment...
@Jsfilmz

The tutorial is great. But! That's an insane number of steps for something so simple. What if I need to edit a whole sequence with multiple shots, cameras and footage?'That would be a solid day just to bring the footage into UE. This has to get streamlined before it gets a wider adoption.
@bombush
@bombush 3 жыл бұрын
I don't think Composure is meant for this workflow - i.e. combining pre-made 2D footage. It's strength lies in virtual production - combining live 3D environments running in Unreal with studio footage taken with motion-tracked cameras. I take this tutorial to be a great intro into how Composure works but not a representative of it's intended use case.
@benoithyperlord
@benoithyperlord 2 жыл бұрын
Agreed. It should be drag and drop. Another thing is that it's also very complex to change the imported video inside UE, so you have to shoot with specific lighting. This means you can't change the set up inside UE.

JSFILMZ - if you tick the "Affected By PIEHandeling" checkbox in the details tab of your media player your media will quit turning off on you. Also, using an mp4 or other supported media makes no difference. They all work. However, I am facing a newer issue. When I render the camera perspective is coming from the face of the composure actor and not the cg-element. Not sure what is going on there but its happening on every level now.

The composure plugin is cool, but in the end, it's just 2D editing. Nothing that you can't do with After Effects. Personally, I prefer putting the real footage inside the 3D world, the shaders affect the real footage that way.

@Dante02d12
@Dante02d12 3 жыл бұрын
@@simhanssens7331 Check out the official UE documentation about *Media Texture,* it will tell you how to load a video in a 3D scene. If you want a _live_ video footage, use the Open URL function instead of Open Source that the documentation uses. Then check out a tutorial about chroma keying in UE, it's different from the Composure chroma key system but it looks a lot like it ^^. There's a lot of ways to do it, but personally, I use a Chroma Keyer function, as in this video: kzbin.info/www/bejne/e6PKi2Vqba55o5o&ab_channel=MonovilleMonoville That way you basically make a "manual compositing", except now your video footage casts shadows and reflections because it's in your scene. For the rest, there's a few other KZbin videos maybe, but here are my own suggestions: - Attach the video "object" of your scene to a Cine Camera actor, and make that camera always face your own camera (tick the box "Always look at actor" in that camera details). That way the real footage will always face the camera. If you don't do this, the real footage can look flat compared to the rest of the world. - If you want dynamic scenes, film your green screen video without moving, and make the _virtual camera_ move instead. You can also animate the "video object". Hopefully it helps!
