Even though I'm American and I live in the USA I don't know how public school works that much. I only went form preschool to 1rst grade, I've been home schooled for 7 years I go to meets with other home schoolers at a huge curch for things that needs other people like we have horse riding every week and alot of other things. But we have everything that school has but less strict techers because there all mothers that teach each other's kids lol. Here is how my secondary (in England) works: 9:05 to 9:25 Form Time (20mins) 9:25 to 11:05 1st Period(100mins) 11:05 to 11:25 1st Break(20mins) 11:25 to 1:05 2nd Period(100mins) 1:05 to 2:05 Lunch(1hour) 2:05 to 3:45 3rd Period(100 and 5mins) 3:45 End of school! My school starts at 7:25 am. We have to get to school by 7 am. Then at 7:50 am is the first period. Each period is 35 minutes ( used to be 45 minutes ). Then : 10:25 am is the start of recess and 10:55 am is the end. Then lessons continue till 1:15 pm where you have lunch till 1:50. Then , lessons continue till 3:00 pm. Then you stay back if you have remedial ( for those who fail certain tests for certain subjects ) till 4 pm. I’m also in Secondary school and it’s probably different since mine is in Singapore and my school system is kinda based off your school system.

Americans are cool . In our school even phones are not allowed . The school teachers also used to check our bags to find out we haven't brought our phone to school . But no worries because my friends were there to entertain me and😂 we had a lot of fun together .

Woah, there's not even locker in my school in the past. I remember bringing a thick bulky bag and 2 additional hand bags full of books that at least weigh 10-15 kg total and as a 10 years old. Also the textbook is so outdated and so inconvenient that in middle and high school, we just uses papers. We have textbooks but rarely uses them because they are so outdated. And I don't know if it's the same but student at in my country is forced to join clubs and curricular activities. I remember waking up 4:00 AM in the morning, take the school bus and reach school at 6:00 AM and study until 1:25 PM and then have club and curricular activities until 3:20 PM and then react home at fricking 4:00 - 5:00 PM. It's Malaysia for those who are curious.

I’m from the uk and seeing this was so cool 😂. Like the bus just seemed amazing idk y. And your hallways are huge. We literally have to elbow each other to get through. Do you have this thing called a ‘one way system’?? We have that in certain corridors. I noticed you were studying of mice and men and we did that a few years ago - it was amazing. We have 5 lessons a day. Each an hour. And everyone eats on the playground cause our cafeteria is so small and stuffy. Trust me you don't. I'm not from the US but people have told me about it. I'm from London and apparently they tend to do 9 periods a day every day while in the UK we have a timetable for every 2 weeks. I can't imagine doing the same lessons over and over again every day. Americans also get 1 huge summer break while in the UK we tend to have a week off every 5-8 weeks I'd say, it's called a half term, and to compensate for that we only get 6 weeks of summer holidays. Americans also tend to get more homework and their education is quite poor. Then, there's also stuff like health care. In the UK, if you cut your finger you can get a plaster from the medical room. I'm not sure what they do in American schools because you actually have to pay for stuff like that. In the US they also typically go to school at 7:30am while in the UK, it's typically around 8:40am. I don't think I'd want to be in an American school tbh

Ricky911 Hey just a response as a 17 year old American High School Student. I do go to a private school however, so some things are a bit different, but not by a huge margin. At my school we have 6 periods a day with the school day running from 8:00 A.M-2:45AM, except for Wednesday’s, we start at 9:00 on those days. We indeed get a 10 week summer break, but we also get weeks or days off throughout the year like : Winter/Christmas Break, Fall Break, Thanksgiving Break, and Spring Break. There are also some days off here and there like I said. We do indeed get a good amount of homework, but my education at least has been superb, my school is at the top of the state in terms of education. However, America indeed has an education problem with some public schools. And no, at school you do not have to pay for any treatment for like cuts and stuff. At my school we actually don’t have a nurse, we have an athletic trainer, so not only does he deal with any medical emergencies, he also helps our athletes(me!) recoger and regenerate for their sports. He's from New Jersey and while many people have told me that the education throughout the US varies most people tend to do around what I described above. Then again, you go to a private school. That's a bit different. Also, thank you for telling me about what happens if you injure yourself at school because I always wandered what would happen considering the health care is not free.
