I bought the Sabre JSK51(left) about a year ago. Mine does not have a bait clicker. Wish it did. Mine is geary and the thumb bar at times will not catch correctly when engaging the spool. For the most part, I like the JSK51. It was my first round BFS reel, that I ended up buying the 23 Shimano Calcutta Conquest BFS a few months ago. And now I also have the Loongze Airlite B101 HG (non DC).

I’ve not been too impressed by any of the Sabre versions so far. All kinda have some of the same issues, you can get a number of low profile BFS reels for around the same price and are way better than them! How do you like the Loongze? I’m thinking about getting one myself.

@dbbfishing2528 , I have the non DC and it's quite a good reel. It's 2.1oz lighter than the 22 Shimano Calcutta Conquest BFS. Just don't like the pencil thin metal handle grips. Also I have the Bates Hundo. The spools are interchangeable!

I real with my right hand which one is the right real to pick. I’m confused on the option list.

I have one, it sounds and feels a little geary but not like somethingis flopping around or loose. Had to use screwdriver on the thumb screws. Haven't used it yet but it freespools good.

Also the extra copper piece goes under the spool tension cap I believe.

@@larryjeffrey985 thanks! Yeah I was pretty sure it was a shim for something just wasn’t sure. I sent it back because the last time I had a reel that would catch like that one something was wrong with the main gear. I’m not sure what it was catching on and I wanted to check out AliExpress return policy.

I would say all the Sabre variants are pretty much the same the Seasir being the best of them but not by a lot

I have a variant of the upgraded version of this reel. The brass plates are sacrificial bearing surfaces for the spool shaft to ride against inside the tension knob. My reel also had a really loose line guide and some side to side play in the worm shaft. But I shimmed the pawl with an additional M4 washer and the worm gear with a Nylon washer I had to open up to 5mm ID. Now it behaves nicely, no more wonky line lay, way smoother in the cast. Only minor issue is a hint of gearyness in the retrieve, but not to the point that it would bother me when fishing. It's become a real fun reel now.

Wow! You really lifted it up! If it would’ve just been sloppy I still don’t think I would’ve done all that much. I sent it back because I’m pretty sure that it has a tooth on one of the gears that’s messed up.

Yeah I’m not sure what it was catching on but the last time I had a reel doing something like that it was the main gear. So I sent it back I also wanted to check out AliEpress return policy

Nice looking reel but it’s a shame it’s making that noise, how many reels do you own it’s got to be a lot

They look like shims for the spool tensioner. Its a sacrificial brass plate i am guessing you just replace as they wear out. Could hear that clicking noise where it was catching. That's sad because it looks so good. Considering it was in the same spot every time it has to be in the main drive gear on the handle. You said you got another like it on the way? I hope its the seasir jh (100-300) there picture shows a silver main drive gear and not brass like the others so maybe they machined and replaced that gear. The other is the mavllos 10bb, not sure it has a name or letter code. From all reports i have seen everyone seems to say they have a gear feel, so they are not smooth. Which is a little sad as they look so damn good. Hope you have better luck on the next one. I got to play with my shimano bantam sx10 on its refereb combo its 30 years old. Casting a ball sinker outside was fun. I can't wait to take it back out on the water and catch some whiting. If i enjoy the combo over my spin reels i will look at getting a seasir probably.
