That whole Tsunami/Bimini Bay product line is such good value for the money. I live on those Tsunami Evicts when I'm in Florida. There are very few days of the year when I don't wear a Bimini Bay piece of clothing at some point.

Thanks as always for all the teaching you do! You're one of the major reasons I came from not knowing how to tie a knot 3 years ago, to actually being a half decent fisherman! Enjoy FL, I'll be watching the videos!

Thank you John. Good luck down south. I’ll be in Big Pine Key in February to slam a Bunch of Fish . Love your videos.

That spot behind you at the start... I'd try a wake making surface lure at night ...really gentle and slow .. I'm sure the bigger fish would hit .

Thank for the suggestions and content. This year was very soft for albies on the north fork. You mentioned that back in 2011 you believed that year was poor and thought it was due to the heavy rains from hurricane irene that lead to dirty water in the sound from the rivers of Connecticut. This year’s fall had very little if any rain,what are your thoughts on why the albie fishing was poor?

I'd be interested in your thoughts on the 2024 fishing season. Many are saying worst in years. I think it was more erratic/inconsistent than past years.
@JohnSkinnerFishingАй бұрын
It all depends where you fish. The south shore sand beaches had a great October. Long Island Sound eastern beaches were mostly terrible for me. South Shore bays and the Sound had good fluking, but the ocean was tough.

Thanks John! Do you have a saltwater back pack recommendation for the surf casters among us?

Safe travels and Happy Holidays, John. I'll be out on the North Fork the week of 12/1 and have never fished the Sound beaches this late in the year. Has most of the Striper action subsided or is there a reasonably good chance of finding some fish from the shore?
@JohnSkinnerFishingАй бұрын
I'd try bucktailing McCabes on a reasonable onshore wind and outgoing water, especially into sunset. You might get some smalls.
@jrod1077Ай бұрын
Will give that a shot…thanks!

John I bought Season on the Edge years ago and found it to be the VERY BEST book ever written on surf fishing. I wanted to re-read and found out my wife donated it !!! Anyway I just bought the kindle edition and again I am amazed at the amount of knowledge that is in every line of this book. Just want to thank you again for it and HAPPY HOILIDAYS!.

John I'm reading Season on the edge for the 30th time. lol Anyway, I wanted to ask ,rather than a gaff on the jetty could a person use a long Boga instead? Have a GREAT Christmans.
@JohnSkinnerFishingАй бұрын
Glad you're enjoying Season on the Edge! I have no idea how you could boga a fish from 6 feet away.
@bostonhayworth1264Ай бұрын
@@JohnSkinnerFishing Yeah. I thought they made longer bogas but the longest is like 3 feet. No good. Thanks!!
