Hey Julien, I've noticed that you're using some negative self-talk during these videos regarding your cooking abilities and how well you're respecting other cultures. I just want you to know that your enthusiasm for learning and passion for cooking is amazing and you should be proud of yourself for every part that you've done right, and how sensitive/open you are to the other cultures you're bringing into your videos!

I know no one cares about my opinion lol😂 but i absolutely love both their content and have been following them for years. They’ve really made me laugh at times when no one else could, and with all that i’ve been through there videos have always been a safe, positive, and hilarious place to go. sorry for rambling, i just figured since i appreciate them so much they should know :) ❤️ xoxo

That spot is called a “hollow heart.” This happens when weather is erratic during growing season, causing fast and slow growth, the potato flesh did not adapt well to it during growth. This is more common in white potatoes (Idaho, russet, etc) as their flesh is more porous than say Yukon potatoes or red potatoes which have an even denser and thus less porous flesh. The potato is still safe to eat, just simply remove the hollow heart as you would an eye (which Julien does in the video).

You're enthusiasm and excitement to cook is positively inspiring Julien. I love nothing more then researching a recipe and literally cannot stop thinking about it until I have cooked and tried the results. So I love your videos - even the ones that you described as "dumpster fires". Always fun to watch and gives me such a laugh. One of the best parts too is how Jenna comes and tries everything and shares in your excitement too. Keep up the good work Julien and Happy Cooking and experimenting!!

In Turkey when someone talks about celery it’s the root, so it’s super interesting you’d never seen it before! You can shred the celery roots, add yogurt, mayo (obviously vegan is perfectly fine) and walnuts to it, season it and have a delicious salad you can have as a slaw-type side dish :)
