Pretty amazingly small world! And JD Vance named his second son after Vivek in 2020. Honestly, the fact such trustworthy friends are both true populist conservatives, gives me great hope for the future of the GOP as someone who utterly despises the Bush neocons and had NEVER voted Republican before until Trump, I had always been loudly opposed to the GOP shipping jobs overseas to China and Mexico (NAFTA), supported Perot, and voted third party generally, never voted for any GOP before until Trump (who I voted 5 times so far, 6th time soon!). FP Trump's 2 Secretaries of State, 2 Defense Secretaries, 2 Homeland Security Secretaries, first Chief of Intelligence, 2 CIA Directors, the Chair of the Joint Chiefs he appointed, 2 National Security Advisors, 2 WH Chiefs of Staff, and his VP all have said publicly that he is unfit to be President. These are the people who worked closely with him on national security and defense matters and they say he is unfit. Twelve of the 15 have gone further and said that he is a serious and direct threat to our national security. These are all conservative Republicans who supported him, endorsed him, worked for his election, donated money to his campaign (some twice) and eagerly joined his administration, hoping to make it the most successful ever. But, after working with him closely and seeing how he handled the job, they do not believe he should be allowed near the oval office again. But, even this is not the end. During his presidency, he appointed 46 Cabinet or Cabinet-level appointees. A sizable majority of those appointees now also say that he is unfit for office. Of the 46, five support his election this year, and two of those five have been very critical of him. Nothing like this has ever happened. To draw the contrast, the number of people in the Biden, Obama, Bush II, Clinton, Bush I, Reagan, and most other administrations who left their positions and said the President they served was unfit was zero. The contrast is telling, and the warning is unlike any we have ever received as a nation. In real estate, those who worked closely with him and knew him best thought him a disaster (including his parents, who late in their lives changed their succession plan to make their youngest son the successor to Fred Trump, instead of the oldest surviving son, because they thought he would bankrupt the family firm within two years). Those who worked with him in the casinos thought he was a disaster, and all parts of the casino operations came together to ban him for life for any involvement in the industry for life. He ran a charitable foundation that he said was to help the poor and claimed that he paid the admin costs, so that every dollar donated could go to the poor. But, it was a lie. He and his oldest two children solicited millions from individuals and businesses, but he kept all the money for himself. As a result, he and the elder children are banned for life from any involvement with charities or foundations, he had to sign a letter admitting his scam, and he had to make a two million dollar donation to a charity selected by a third party (he was not deemed trustworthy to make the selection) to make up for at least a part of what he stole. There are very clear and distinct patterns in the life of former President Trump. Except for self-promotion, he has failed at every position he has ever held, including the presidency (his economic policies caused a recession starting in August 2019, well before we had heard of the pandemic, those policies caused an explosion of our national debt (adding more than 8 trillion dollars to the debt -- a 35% increase in one term, he mishandled the pandemic so badly that hundreds of thousands of Americans died needlessly and then in August 2020 (as the virus spread to every state), he had his Chief of Staff announce that he was bored with COVID and would speak of it no more and answer no more questions about it, and that is one of the only times he kept his word. He is the only world leader who left his country to fend for itself in the midst of the biggest health crisis it ever faced. Senator Vance can make the case a million times, but it will never be a convincing one to anyone who has actually looked at his history, including his presidency. Our allies around the world, especially the ones in eastern and central Europe are terrified at the prospect that he might become President again, because they know that he is about to betray and abandon them, just as he did the Kurds, the Ukrainians and others. He is a liar, a racist, a bigot towards others, a criminal and an authoritarian wannabe. His election in November would be a disaster for people in this country, for our economy -- which is now the strongest and the largest in the world again -- and for women and minorities, especially. FP Trump is not a master chess player. He is a bully who rules his party by ejecting everyone he does not like. As President again, he will deport or imprison everyone he does not like, and you will have given him the power to do that and to destroy our country.
