Uncharted has got to be one of my favourite game franchises of all time, I love the gameplay, story, characters and music. I’m glad you made this video so I can get the definitive Uncharted retrospective

I was so obsessed with this franchise growing up. All my friends knew it too, I was a very loud and influential kid in my friend group at the time. They would buy me clothing like Nathan Drakes for my birthday. One girl I knew bought me a ring necklace and scarf like he had in Uncharted 3. Anytime we were walking to school and we saw something yellow, they would all be like “Oh it’s the yellow bit, you got to climb it!” Getting home and playing Uncharted 2 multiplayer and I convinced all my guy friends to stop playing Call of Duty for a bit to try it out and they loved it. I remember when Uncharted 3 came out my mom wouldn’t take me to get it, so my neighbors mom let me use their high speed street bike to go to the mall and get it! People knew I loved Uncharted and everyone supported my fandom, was so funny!

I actually forgot how important Nathan Drake was to me. My teenagehood was practically defined by that character. He was the guy I wanted to be when I grew up. The Last of Us may be ND’s critical darling but Uncharted was their claim to fame. I’m glad that they didn’t milk it to death.

It's pretty concise actually. I played the uncharted games recently for the first time and wanted to watch some videos about them. There's this guy called Luke Stephens and holy shit he yaps like there's no tomorrow, like a 3 hour video for just a single game where for most of the time he just follows the game's entire synopsis.

Absolutely loved this review. Comprehensive, thorough, and I appreciate that you went long form for this phenomenal franchise that I’ve also been obsessed with since I was introduced to it as a teen on the PS3. Completely agree that it makes a developer / publisher a lot better to make a great series and close it when it’s been appropriately exhausted vs. watering it down and potentially ruining its legacy with an eternal string of unnecessary sequels. Just found this channel and I want to say your videos are AMAZING. I have watched a lot of video game essay/analysis channels one of the things I hate is when they just basically summarize the game and I feel like alot of channels do 90% summarizing and 10% editorial/analysis. I feel like your videos have a better mix and whenever you summarize you also give your point of view. I don't want to listen to the summary of a game I alreayd have played or I could also read that much faster on wiki.

I recently beat all of the games on brutal/crushing and those difficulties really help you learn the deeper mechanics and layouts of the maps. The amount of cheese you can pull off is insane

The whole starting out as DLC but became so much bigger than planned became its own game reminds me of Super Mario Galaxy 2. Like how it started off as an expansion, even being called at one point, “Super Mario Galaxy More” but ideas kept on piling up they decided to make it a full out sequel. Lost Legacy reminds of that, just on a much MUCH smaller scale.

"Uncharted: Golden Abyss" is the only "Uncharted" game I haven't played, and it'll remain that way because the commercially failed PlayStation Vita just isn't worth it.

The Vita is alright but the game itself is crap. It runs like shit on the Vita and all the gimmicks are such a turn off. It’s a good showcase of the graphical capabilities of the Vita and it would have a good game had they not made it into a tech demo for the console. The feeling I get when playing it is that this game was rushed so that it could meet that launch window for the vita. Also the game tries too hard to be unique when all it really had to do was to be an uncharted game on a handheld.

I'm going through Uncharted for the first time ever. The PS3 version of the games, on RPCS3, cause the Nathan Drake Collection isn't on PC. I first heard about Uncharted from a classmate who played it when it came out in 2007. I also remember the ads for Among Thieves was *EVERYWHERE*, and at the time I was a diehard Xbox teen, so I didn't give a damn and found it annoying. When Uncharted 3 had its promotions going, I did find myself looking more. Especially since Harrison Ford himself was in some of the online ads. Now that's cool! Anyway, I love the games so far. 1 was good, 2 was excellent! And 3, so far, has been a blast to play too. With the benefit of hindsight, unbiased eyes, and an emulator, I can play these games for what they are. And I find it very impressive how good of a foundation Uncharted 1 was, I don't like everything about it. Both jet ski sections are pretty middling, and the second one just flat-out sucked. I didn't mind how they used the controller to dictate some gameplay mechanics, but I'd default to just doing it the old-fashioned way, and it's clear they ditch balancing with the controller after the first act. So you do wonder why they bothered However, it paved the way for Uncharted 2, and it blew me away. Progressing through the train was my favorite bit, and the constant escalation of threat and rebuttal kept a smile on my face the whole time. Even now, I'd say the PS3 version on Uncharted 2 is a damn-near perfect game. I see myself replaying it, even if the ND Collection never comes to PC It's hard to say where Uncharted 3 is gonna land for me, I feel like it'll come close to 2, but it's clear that After 1, Naughty Dog had a vision for this world, and it has been solidly built. My GOD are the characters great too! I'd buy the main cast a beer, lord knows they need it after the shit they've been through, haha. It'll suck when I finish 3, and then 4, since I'm enjoying my time with these games. Still, I'm hoping I'll like the ending. And I'll be back here to finish the review when it's done for me!

Honestly, I don't think there was a "fall" for this franchise. Even the weaker games in the series are better than many of the best games in some of the most renouned videogame franchises, in my opinion. For example, I'd take any one of these games over every game in Elder Scrolls, GTA, Final Fantasy, Metal Gear, or Resident Evil any day.

I will never understand why nd has 3 different versions of last of us and 2 different versions of last of us 2 but cant give us remakes of the ps3 uncharted games and how they teased us with the legacy of thieves collection which was just ports of the 4th game and the extended dlc that was the lost legacy i would love to see the other games get the mechanical and graphical enhancement that 4 had
