I love it when the Drum Majors chair up on the full section part of Soul ! (1:23).. J5 giving that hard 4 8ct drive along with Funky 4 bringing the Boom and Z phi bringing the Watts all fits so perfectly! Just a perfect climax to the dynamics of the cadence and how the band is structured to start around it. It’s purely exciting ! Then death march calms you back down while keeping you captivated. I remember seeing Avery do often as head DM 2009-2011.. Something I made sure we did when I became a Drum Major in high school. Hope it becomes an often occurrence like them combining JSU and Mean Lean at the intro of Get Ready.. Man I’m a huge fan of this program and love to see it flourishing every year ! 💪🏿✊🏿🎶

And when they start performing that's when they wanna scoot back so they won't get hit by the drum majors or kicked by the settes. I understand you excited but when you get hit it'll be a different story. So give them room or else get hit in the face.

I’m new to the band world. But I genuinely want to know why Southern is considered the best when JSU exists? From the dancers to the sound? Can someone please clarify. From what I’ve seen, JSU is the most energetic, has the best sound, and the more exciting march out/technique. Southern seems a bit boring and stuffy to me. Idk just observations since I don’t have a dog in this fight.
