"Over confident high school student" when I was in middle school, some of the students from the high school Orchestra came to play for us. One was literally like that, and he played the cello too. The closest I got to anything music was in elementary with the clarinet thing in music class and I thought it was the hardest thing. Wait no, in middle school in choir the teacher had us learn a couple notes on the paint then, "compose and write your own song" like lyrics and music. Did it, she liked it, but can't remember anything what I wrote since it's been about 18 years or so since then.

Playing it that good after 1 year (without having prior knowledge in a different instrument) would be pretty hard. Maybe if you are a child with too much free time so you can practice 2hrs a day or something.
