I agree that what this is lacking is a way to keep the key caps in place. I have one cheapy set, DSA enlightenment, where the cheap injection molded plastic tray actually has contours for 1u and other size key caps to sit on

Thanks for the review! Do you think KAT profile will fit inside Standard? Or do you recommend Max tray instead? I'm waiting on my first KAT set and not sure which tray to buy to store them in!

They're not as tall as SA and yeah the fit quite snugly. KAT profile ccaps have so much kits I still prefer the big tray!
