Today I’ll get the 1155 split to inspect the pto/charge pump shaft and couplers that are common to go bad on these tractors

Good stuff and brings back some memories from years ago when I helped my Uncles from time to time who farmed together. One was a MF175 and the other a MF1085, both had to be split because of hydraulic issues and the 175 also had a Multi Power problem... a some what painful process, but not bad there was three of us. For a one man show like yourself it looks like you got a handle on things and going about it safely. Was nice to see so many Massey's in one place... good vid!👍

Hey JT, regarding always blocking the wheels when jacking and separating!:( When the guy poured my shop floor there was some confusion as to the use of the space. He pitched the floor 4" over 24'. He said " no water will collect on this slab"!! He was right, nothing stays on the floor. I chase sockets that are heading for the door! I almost lost my wife's AWD car when I jacked up the front thinking it would stay in place. No! I finally stopped the rig by turning the jack just as it was going out the door. It hadn't started moving until I was at the side to put the stands under. Also, love your rolling stands and track! Great idea!! Thanks JT!

It really looks to me like the root of the problem was the snap ring on that shaft. Once it came loose it allowed the shaft to slide back so that it wasn’t fully engaged with the coupler. Then it stripped the splines because it was only in the end of the coupler.

We’ve always had mostly Massey tractors. My dad bought a 135 in 1967 and I still have it. I bought another 135 and it needs a head gasket. My brother and I have had a 3090 and an 8220 and a 375. I bought a brand new 5711 last year and this year I bought a nicely restored 1150 V8 . It seems used tractors are brining record prices at auctions lately especially ones in decent shape. I don’t have the mechanical know how to do what you do. I’m going to take my other 135 to the dealer to get the head gasket done.

Hi JT, I'm from Michigan. I have an1155 it has eaten up 2 used charg pumps it has metal in the oil. The service shop can't seem to fix it it has a good motor and is pretty clean overall. I also have many extra parts for it.I can't afford to put any more money into the tractor, would you be interested in it?

Hey JT, after I watched the video and thought a little, I remembered you saying that that snp ring wasn't doing much good. Is that snap ring supposed to keep the coupler at the pump from sliding back on the shaft and disengaging the pump? The couplings looked worn but I didn't see either one slipping. Not questioning your diagnosis, just curious!:) I love learning!
@jtsbarnngrill6873
@jtsbarnngrill6873 Жыл бұрын
that snap ring is meant to keep the front splines in the hub at the flywheel. it is entirely possible that the shaft slipped back a little, causing it to slip. in the first disassembly video I spun the pto clutch basket and it was slipping on the teeth quite a bit. in the next video I’ll explain it better and show a before and after 😉

Did you make your splitting cart and rail or buy it? Do you still have your 1805 from intro? We had one years ago ran really good, previous owner moved remote levers from dash to right of seat. We took out the dog bone between the motor and transmission and added a drive shaft. Wonder where that old beast ended up. I’m in southeast Michigan.
