@mikegallant8112 жыл бұрын
Yes I am fairly certain that by that point especially right as she entered the Sol System the Enterprise had to have dropped out of warp drive by then and was probably using just impulse engines go the rest of the way from the edge of the system to the area where she would enter the approach zone to space dock she wasn't in the best of shape at that point let's face it some of her systems were only running on impulse power that rat bastard Khan had done so much damage to her in fact I am going to be straight with you about this Enterprise was damn lucky that when Khan shot up her portside torpedo Bay that she did not get shot in two at her neck. Enterprise could have wound up decapitated! Also I think I need add this during the battle with Khan in the mutara nebula when he fired off a torpedo at her I don't know if it hit her starboard side nacelle support pylon or if it was a glancing hit but either way had that one been a full strength hit if it was hit she could have lost a warp nacelle then she really would have been f***** when the situation came where they had to get away from the reliant really quick when Khan activated the Genesis device because as far as I know even if the warp core is operable a ship like that cannot go to warp with only one drive unit available because the field would have been asymmetrical and she could have torn herself to pieces okay there have been some star Fleet ships that only have one engine pod or that have more than two but two is usually the best number of them because that way the field will be big enough to encompass the whole ship and the warp field will be properly balancedin fact I will add this I just discovered something in Star Trek Online recently when the multi vector advanced escort that would be the Prometheus class vessel has its upper saucer section operating independently during multivector mode it has two small warp nacelles deploy from the top and bottom of that section they probably had to go and do some pretty extensive studies to make sure that the drive could work properly that way instead of having the pods side by side.

I’m glad it was included that the Constitution Refit’s main navigational deflector dish is only blue when either impulse or warp drives are in use. When at full stop, or at thruster speeds, in orbital/dock space, the dish is a more golden color, indicating a low energy/standby state. At thruster speeds, the structural integrity saturation charge in the hull plating, and the hull deflector shielding, will protect against debris impacts. At high velocities under impulse or warp, the navigational deflector has to be used to clear the vehicle’s path of gas, dust, and debris, for safety’s sake.

I have watched this scene and this movie countless times and i have been able to snip out 3d recreations and find some sort of flaw. This video....floored me. Your opening shot as well as shot of enterprise approaching space dock are practically indistinguishable and even enhanced from the original film but not to the point of being distracting....its all still grounded in realism. The only thing that gave it away was the enhance detail on the deflector dish which i think was more a personal stylistic choice rather than an oversight and frankly one i approve of. All I can say is thank you and job well done.
