Great conversation! Haj Amin El Housaini is a character that history conveniently "forgot." That man was the direct link between nazis and current day "Palestinian" nationality. His nephew, Yasser Arafat, leader of the PLO, continued in his path. In a time when they have the audacity to blame Israel for being the new nazis, we should remain the world basic history facts.

TOTALLY AGREE ! His inspiration for, and leading OF the very first pogroms against Jewish people in 1920, which sparked the "ethnic cleansing" OF Jewish people from all Arab Islamist countries, NECESSITATING their return TO their Homeland, all totally forgotten and glossed over as if 1948 was somehow "the start". And THEN when Amin Al Husseini escapes to BERLIN and RECRUITS Muslims to the 13th WAFFEN SS Div, who go on to commit atrocities that even Himmler was "disturbed" about, all of which left Al Husseini charged with War Crimes and Crimes against Humanity in 1946 Yet he was conveniently allowed to escape and disappear.....Dean Acheson's "White Paper" Dossier on him never WAS released, was it

It clearly says that all minorities in Israel will have equal rights and freedoms, and they do!!! People scrutinize everything Israel does but conveniently "forget" what Palestinians/Arabs do that trigger the Israeli response! 1967? Jordan, Egypt, and Syria ATTACKED Israel and lost territories! 1948?? 5 Arab armies ATTACKED Israel and lost territories!!! Check points? Separation wall? The result of an intifada!! Thousands of Palestinians launched TERROR ATTACKS from the west bank into the depth of Israel, killing hundreds of Israelis on busses, restaurants, everywhere!!! Gaza endless cycle of wars??? Israel disengaged from gaza completely, yet Palestinians still fired ROCKETS on Israeli CIVILIANS!!! Do you think it is normal to live like this?? Do YOU wanna be bombarded with a barrage of rockets every time territories feel like killing you!?!? Why do you expect Israel to NOT DEFEND THEMSELVES?!!? "Erets Israel" proclaims their land grab arrogance. Hubris, greedy ignorance enables the depraved atrocities you seek to legitimize. @@chingis83The “Nakba” was the failed attempt by five Arab armies to strangle Israel upon its rebirth in 1948. While Israel survived and now thrives, it was Jews who were ethnically cleansed from Judea and Samaria and eastern Jerusalem by the Jordanian occupiers. It was Jews who suffered massacres at Arab hands even before Israel’s War of Independence. It was 850,000 Jews who fled or were forced out of Arab and Muslim countries after Israel was reborn.... The Nakba is a carefully crafted, 72-year-old lie designed to usurp the documented facts in order to deny Israel’s legitimacy. The ultimate goal is to destroy the world’s sole Jewish state.

@@chingis83do your research. Jews were already the majority in the partitioned area assigned to them by the UN, which they accepted. The Arabs rejected the UN resolution, and declared war. Clearly you don't have enough current and historical knowledge of the region, and so, you shouldn't "poison the well" by injecting a false narrative and by playing the victim card. They are not innocent, but yes, they are victims, and certainly not victims of Israel. This is a consequence of being brought up surrounded by cancerous ideologies like Islam and its intolerant doctrine, and by electing severely corrupted leaders. Israel is not out to harm Arabs, which is evidenced by the 2 million Arabs that live relatively peacefully in Israel. Where on the other hand, Jews have been rejected by all Arab nations. You wouldn't allow someone to just knife you, would you? You'd try to stop them. What would you do if they told they they're going to keep trying? I bet you'd keep holding them down, even if you broke their arms. Does that sound ridiculous to you? It's now like me saying to you, "no god will forgive you for breaking their arms, what did they do to you?". I really hope you're able to see the point.

The idea of a Jewish National Homeland was put formally in place in the early 1900s. It was agreed to by Emir-King Feisal ibn-Husseini as shown in the Feisal-Weizmann Agreement. It was signed by both parties on January 3rd, 1919. It included provisions for Jewish immigration, as it was understood that they needed a homeland. King Feisal was not a British puppet king. He was the most prominent and respected Arab leader at the time, by Arabs as well as other peoples. He was the King of all Arabia and the Hajaz and the Grand Sharif of Mecca. The Jews and the Arabs fought together for their independence in WWI against the harsh and oppressive Ottoman Empire. The understanding was that the Jews would get a territory sufficient for their religion and their people, and that the Arabs would get all the other Ottoman territories which are very extensive and about twenty times larger than what was to become the Jewish State. This has been fulfilled on the Arab side of the agreement. It has yet to be fulfilled for the Jews. Most Palestinians who are in Israel now, came during the first half of the 20th century, for better job opportunities and perhaps as interlopers taking over and taking claim and credit for the improvements the Jews were making to Israel. This is reflected in their surnames which are from other and surrounding countries. One of the most common Palestinian surnames is Al-Masri. In Arabic, Al-Masri literally means "the Egyptian." You'll also see Palestinians named Hourani (from Houran in southern Syria), Tzurani (from Tyre in southern Lebanon), Zrakawi (from Mazraka in Jordan), Hijazi (from the Hijaz province of the Arabian peninsula), Mughrabi (from the Maghreb) Elmisri (Egyptian), Chalabi (Syrian), Mugrabi (North Africa), Habash (Ethiopia), and many other names that point to their true geographical origins. It was originally intended that the Jewish people would receive all of what is now Israel and the area that is now Jordan as well. The Arabs didn't accept this. In 1922 Winston Churchill put in place the first Two-State-Solution which could be called Israel-Jordan. The Israelis were to receive Israel and the people who are now called Palestinians did receive Jordan. Jordan is two times larger than Israel. Today two-thirds of the population of Jordan are Palestinians. Again the Muslims would not accept this, and riots and fighting broke out. 1933 saw the rise of Nazism and Hitler. World War Two took over much of the world's energy and consciousness between 1939 and 1945. Palestinian Arabs collaborated with the Nazis during this time and helped to promote and instigate the Holocaust. Their leading Supreme Mufti, Amin al-Husseini, met with Hitler and his high-ranking officials several times and helped to recruit Muslims into the Nazi forces. He continued his anti-Israeli propaganda until 1974 when he died. WWII and the Holocaust ended in 1945. In 1948 the UN, now in control of the area, put in place the second Two-State-Solution, which gave the people who are now called Palestinians good portions of Israel, while they already had Jordan and while Jerusalem would become an international city. Israel agreed to this and declared themselves the independent State of Israel. Again the Arab Muslims wouldn't accept this solution and Israel was attacked by five surrounding Arab nations. This was the 1948 war. Israel won this war and gained a bit more territory. Since 1948 close to a million Jews have been programed out of Arab Muslim nations into Israel. Mostly from places and lands where they had lived for centuries and even millennia. Almost all of them having no place to go except Israel. Since then several Two-State-Solutions and other solutions have been put in place. Each time Israel agreed and the Arab Muslims did not and then started conflicts or war. It wasn't until the 1960s that the Palestinians as a separate group started calling themselves Palestinians, perhaps trying to claim the land for themselves in that way, or because people didn't know what else to call them or they didn't know what to call themselves. There is more information and details concerning these things. But this is part of the history of events mostly throughout the 1900s.

It was originally intended that the Jewish people would receive all of what is now Israel and the area that is now Jordan as well. The maps for the Mandate for Palestine clearly show this. The British were given documented international legal title to the land of Palestine by the defeated Ottoman Turks. The Palestinians didn't accept this. In 2008 Prime Minister Ehud Olmert offered to withdraw from almost the entire West Bank and partition Jerusalem on a demographic basis. In addition, from 1948 to 1967, Jordan controlled the West Bank. The Palestinians could have received an independent state from the Jordanians. Each time Israel agreed to these solutions and the Palestinians did not and started conflicts and war. ----------------------------------- I'm thinking that I should add something about how Israel was indeed a "Land without a people" in the 1800s, as testified by writers such as Mark Twain and Herman Melville as well as many, many others. Thanks for reading this if you've had the chance.

Something important to remember when people say the Palestinians are descendants of the Canaanites: Canaan is the son of Ham, the brother of Shem and the son of Noah. The Arabs are descendants of Shem, and so the Jews. So even though the Canaanites DNA can be found today both in Jews and Arabs in the Middle East, it happened later when the Canaanites assimilated in the Middle East among many nations

You won’t find much Canaanite DNA in the Ashkanazi Zionist Jews. And then only if they are younger generation Israelis whose parents intermarried after immigrating to present day Israeli. Very very few Ashkanazi Zionists are actually Jews by genetics or by religion. This undermines the myth of modern Israel being Semetic, because they are genetically and culturally Russian.

Christian Zionists are the worst cheerleaders for Israel genocide toward Palestinian civilians since 1948... On May 14th 1948, over 700,000 Palestinians were driven from their homes, or fled, under threats of violence.HAMAS did not exist then The Director of the Jewish National Land Fund Joseph Weitz wrote " It must be clear that there is no room for both peoples in this country" On April 9th 1948 Israeli soldiers from Irgun and LEHI exterminated Palestinian villagers in Der Yassin ,they lined men women and children up against a walls and shot them all. Acccording to the former director of the Israeli army archives," in alomost every village occupied by Israeli during the war of independence ,acts were comitted toward Palestinian civilian population which are defined as war crimes, such as murders, massacres and rapes, the Israeli military historian Uni Milstein confirmed that every skirmish ended in a massacre of Arabs So the creation of the State was based on expulsion and ethnic cleansing and you still wonder why Palestinian resistance group attacked Israel ?

Let's stop the charade. The Palestinians have actually had numerous opportunities to create an independent state, but have repeatedly rejected the offers: In 1937, the Peel Commission proposed the partition of Palestine and the creation of an Arab state. In 1939, the British White Paper proposed the creation of a unitary Arab state. In 1947, the UN would have created an even larger Arab state as part of its partition plan. The 1979 Egypt-Israel peace negotiations offered the Palestinians autonomy, which would almost certainly have led to full independence. The Oslo agreements of the 1990s laid out a path for Palestinian independence, but the process was derailed by terrorism. In 2000, Prime Minister Ehud Barak offered to create a Palestinian state in all of Gaza and 97 percent of the West Bank. In 2008, Prime Minister Ehud Olmert offered to withdraw from almost the entire West Bank and partition Jerusalem on a demographic basis. In addition 1948 to 1967, Israel did not control the West Bank. The Palestinians could have demanded an independent state from the Jordanians. On the contrary whilst Jordan was in control Arafat said there was no longer a claim as it was no longer part of Palestine. Once it was back in Israeli hands it miraculously became disputed land again! This is one of many reasons Jews and Israelis are cynical. The Palestinians have spurned each of these opportunities.

Don't forget that the original Mandate gave all of Israel and all of Jordan as well to the Jewish People as a National Homeland. At the same time, the Arab people received all of the rest of what was the Ottoman Empire which is much, much, much larger than Israel. Winston Churchill partitioned this in 1922, the Palestinians received Jordan as a National Homeland which is 2xs larger than Israel. Today two-thirds of the population in Jordan are Palestinians.

"Semitic" is in reference to a family of languages, within the larger Afro-Asiatic language group. Thus, Canaanites were "Semitic," in that they spoke and wrote a Semitic language. At least based on what I have read, there is also a good deal of archeological evidence that Canaanites were subsumed within the Israeli identity, which in many ways appears to have emerged from ashes of late-stage Canaanite society. Jews/Judeans, as the Southern people of Israel, are therefore very much the native population of the land of Israel.

@@EnaK.ktoridouKK Those are mythological biblical lineages. There is no rational reason to think there were ever brothers named Ham, Shem and whatever. And there is ZERO genetic evidence, both archaic and modern, that even begins to verify or validate the concept of semitic or hamitic/Cushitic lineages or ancestry. Canaanites of the Bronze and Iron age got 80% of their genetic ancestry from the Zagros, Caucasus and Anatolia. Ham is a type of deli meat. Canaanites were never a single lineage of people or even monolithic population. Prior to the Levant being populated by "Natufians" there were other groups of Afro Eurasians, both mixed and non, in the region and active throughout. There is zero connection between these designations and phenotype/physical appearance. The majority of Mediterranean populations, includuing in Kmt, during the Bronze age, were mixed Afro-Eurasian. But by far the majority of their ancestry was of Western Eurasian origin, from the HImalayas to Ireland, south to Morocco and back through to central Asia. Meaning, the vast majority of populations in Bronze/Iron age North Africa, all the way to Pakistan and Afghanistan were predominantly of western Eurasian origin. Not that this is very significant or relevant in regard to indigeneity or ethnic identity, Really North Avrika was a mixed AfroEurasian population going all the way back to the Neolithic and probably even pre ice age.

And to be fair, most Ashkenazi are indistinguishable from Maronite Lebanese like Fairouz, Moher Zain, Tony Shailoub etc.. and really near indistinguishable from the majority of Sefardi, especially like North African Sefardi. On a phenotype level, the differences are SO Small. Most Sefardi and Lebanese, based on appearance, WOULD be considered "white" in modern American terms.

My mom is often mistaken for Mexican after a couple of weeks of sunshine. Heck, there are Ashkenazi Jews darker than some Egyptian and Yemenite Jews and of course vice versa.I guess that's what happens when you get 98% of yourgenes, randomly split between mother and father, who in turn got their dna randomly selected from their parents and so on. It's kind of a grab bag, never know what you are going to get. And because of our long and very mixed history as Jews, going all the way back to the Bronze age really when we were mixing with Amorites and Moabites and Persians and Greeks, you never know what kind of genes are going to show up 100 generations later. This is how we can be accused of being swarthy and black by Europeans while at the same time be accused of being "white European colonizers" by Arabs and people of African descent (who want to appropriate our identity). It's how Jews can be blamed for both being the masterminds behind global communism trying to destroy the west and the free world while at the same time being blamed for being the global masterminds behind capitalism, trying to destroy socialism and trying to destroy compassion and empathy. No matter what we do we cant win and we are always whatever they need us to be to fulfill their agenda. I gotta say though, it's a fun ride sometimes. As an Israeli-born Jew and Zionist who went to Hebrew school and was taught all this and more but who also values the truth and has a degree in history from a highly respected college, I respect the truth as much as I love Israel, and if the two are in conflict then I absolutely want to know about it. In the main, Arabs only began calling themselves "Palestinians" in 1964 for political expediency. United Nations General Assembly Resolution 181 (Partition Resolution) of 1947 never refers to the Arabs as "Palestinians," but simply as "Arabs." The first time an international body called the Arabs "Palestinians" was in 1972 with UNGA Resolution 2949 (December 8, 1972). Before 1972, the United Nations referred to the Arabs as "inhabitants," "the population," or "the Arab civilian population." Not once did it use the term "Palestinians." - - - - Are the Arabs now calling themselves "Palestinians" the ancient Philistines? 1 - The Arabs who are now calling themselves "Palestinians" are Semites; the ancient Philistines were not. 2 - The Arabs who are now calling themselves "Palestinians" practice circumcision; the ancient Philistines did not. 3 - The Arabs who are now calling themselves "Palestinians" are monotheistic; the ancient Philistines were polytheistic, whose chief deity was Dagon. 4 - The Arabs who are now calling themselves "Palestinians" speak Arabic: the ancient Philistines' language is still being deciphered. NO, THE ARABS NOW CALLING THEMSELVES "PALESTINIANS" ARE NOT THE ANCIENT PHILISTINES, WHO INVADED THE LAND IN THE 2ND HALF OF THE 12TH CENTURY BCE. - - - - During the mandate period (1922-1948), the British called all the inhabitants of the land "Palestinians," which is why some prominent Arabs tried to disassociate themselves from the name: Lebanese American Princeton professor, Philip Hitti (1886-1978), who testified before the Anglo-American Committee of Inquiry in Jerusalem in 1946 stated that, "There is no such thing as Palestine in history, absolutely not." Of course, what Hitti meant was that there was no Palestine in Arab history, which he is correct. Hitti was opposed to even using the word Palestine in maps because it was "associated in the mind of the average American, and perhaps the Englishman too, with the Jews." "There is no such country! 'Palestine' is a term the Zionists invented! There is no Palestine in the Bible. 'Palestine' is alien to us; it is the Zionists who introduced it." -- Awni Bey Abdul-Hadi, Secretary of the Arab Higher Committee, before the Peel Commission in 1937. The argus-eyed reader will be quick to note that Arab representation during the mandate period was named the "Arab Higher Committee" and not the "Palestinian Higher Committee."

I am an evangelical Christian believer, and we all support Israel and the Jewish people. I was a little bit sad for the generalization of the anti-Semitic attitude of "Christians." Unfortunately, this is the result of the non-biblical teaching of the Catholic church called replacement theology. Nevertheless, Israel and the Jewish people have a very close ally in the Evangelical community since we are completely aware that there would be no New Covenant without the Old Covenant.

You’ve not discussed Younis Bahri who was an Iraqi journalist and schoolmate of Adolf Hitler’s at the Calvary Military Shool in Munich who broadcast on Arab Radio throughout the Middle East disparagingly antisemitic rhetoric throughout the 1930s up until 1939 when he escaped as he was suspected of being involved in the death of King Qhazi and an attack on the British consulate in Iraq where consul George Evelyn’s Arthur Cheyne Monke-Mason was also was killed on the same day. Bahri had already escaped to Berlin on a Lufthansa flight.

All these divisions are actually so far from correct Christianity. Proper Christianity does not mean, worshiping any idols like Mary. But the only, one true living God through Jesus Christ. To abide by God's word. Not to keep the wrong day of rest, but the right one, namely Shabbat. It is not those feasts who do have pagan roots that should be celebrated, but those of God. And I could go on like this for hours. I do not belong to any denomination and I do not want to.

Don't you think that calling "Palestine" the Arab state envisaged by UN resolution 181, engineers the insane doubt that Palestine means "Arab land", when Palestine during the British mandate indicated all the inhabitants of the area? Jews, Christians and Muslims.

Amazing. I am Ashkenazi and had my DNA tested by a company whose tests go back 50+ generations. I was shocked to learn a significant percentage showing as coming from Italy. None of my grandparents are Italian -- everyone of my blood relatives are Ashkenazi from what is now part of Ukraine. I have frequently been mistaken for Italian by many people including Italians -- not just in the U.S. but in Italy. What Ken Spiro said would explain it.

Extremely thought provoking - truly it’s only the finest of academia and qualified professors who don’t tell you what to think, but provide the apparatus for independent thinking, they inform you of about what they know, and let the apprentice reach their own conclusions. And if the professor is really good, and the student able to draw logical comparisons, hopefully the student advances in their level of understanding. It has provoked me to write a simple essay, compare contrast the Palestinian situation with countless other loss and shuffling of territories. When Pakistan lost the 1971 war, did anyone say to Bangladesh “aww poor Pakistanis, come on give them their country back” and I am a Pakistani! When Radcliffe demarcated India and Pakistan like a KG student unable to draw a straight line (not that we wanted an African continent like demarcation) the Indians, (my paternal grandparents included) migrated or not? They lost family members. And I would believe that there is no a single family which can’t say that they didn’t lose at least some family member in that mass migration. Were we happy about it no! Are Indians still upset about it, yes! Was there a legitimate reason behind partition - debatable - but India is not whining about it. Both countries are automatic powers, but they have maintained as much civility as is possible considering the pride of Hindustan that the British cut in half. And left Kashmir to fight over. What about what happens to Muslims in China or Bosnia? People get over it! Keep provoking. As Raza Shah Pahlavi said “Palestinians are no longer doing themselves any favour, rather those supporting them are doing a disservice. Yes I will get a billion hateful messages, but I am expressing my “rudimentary, yet to be researched and analyzed point of view” Unfortunately, we Muslims are not even allowed to do that. But why? Jews are not pagans, they are one of our own! They are people of the book! If Mohammad (PbUH) was alive, he would have probably taken a harsh stance and issued his ruling concerning his Jewish “brothers” - please read the Quran and see the passages - it’s about warning us to not do what Bani Israel did, which they admit themselves! and that most Jews were hiding proofs in their scripture. Come on - come on!! If Israel can absorb Jews from around the world, why don’t Muslim nations do it too? Not as a matter of nationalism (which I am yet to analyze and research) but as a question of humanity? There are so many angles to this - it’s a whole study!
