Well, im sure you did your fair share of the work when you were their age. Thats one of the perks of getting a little older, we can let the younguns carry the load. Lol. Really enjoy the videos Mr. Joe

Thanks for the video Joey. I do look forward to each new one. I have no frame of reference, but it did appear to me to be a nice yield.

It was a good haul. I slipped up a little on the half row and shaved a few heels off.

I got another couple of weeks before I'll put the spud plow behind my tractor. Mind you mine are in clay and rocks, not such nice dirt as you have there. Keep em coming

Hi i really love the single furrow plough in a previous video i was just wondering how do you maintain a constant working depth , can you fit a depth wheel or do you have to continually adjust on the move ? lovely soil (dirt) a bit short in H2O . your potato digger needs a bit of work i like all potatoes brought to the surface for gathering ,regards frank in N Ireland .
@Jtwes3 жыл бұрын
Your right the potato digger will cover up pretty easy. The one bottom is in float so it pulls down to that depth and rides there. I sometimes have to ease it up a little but not much.

Your soil looks like sand. The other video soil looked like lots of rocks. I have never dug potatoes with a tractor and plow. I plant potatoes, 3 rows side by side 8" between rows. TN is hot and dry as desert June to Sept about 1 rain per month all summer and 100°f every day. Potatoes need lots of water if plants don't blossom there are very few new potatoes. Red potatoes out produce white potatoes 4 to 1. Red Pontiac are hot weather potatoes they grow good in our desert soil.

I just bought my first farmall 140, it's been a pain trying to find the attachments. Where did you get your attachments?
@Jtwes3 жыл бұрын
I just have been collecting over the years. But if I were having to find some today I would start with Burch store tractors. Www.burchstoretractors.com
@MrNobody2828 Жыл бұрын
You can buy a 3 point brand new attachment like what he is digging potatoes with at Mills Fleet Farm Store in Mason City IA. I bought one used for $50 at a farm sale. Works really good for me digging potatoes!
@BenWinborn3 жыл бұрын
Is you diggin them with a one bottom ?
@natevanlandingham19453 жыл бұрын
Nah, that's a middle buster. Or a lay off plow some might call them. Some call it a potato plow.
@Jtwes3 жыл бұрын
Hey Ben it’s a furrow plow , but you’ll never hear it called that. All you will hear mostly is potato plow.
@andrewcoleman92473 жыл бұрын

From a farmer. It was rusted all to pieces. I did some refurbish on it.

Hey Roger Thanks for watching. I’ve always said on the channel I do cherry pick the garden spots so you will see a lot of good soil on here. We have some tight spots for sure I just try to stay away from them. Lol
