Oml for the people who are angry at the jockies because they whip the horses you just need to calm your shit. Jockies whip the horses at the end of the stretch to get them going, to let them know its time to pick up the pace. This jockey did very well and so did the horse. Show some god damn respect for these jockies. They train and work hard to be in the position they are now. I'm tired of seeing people saying abuse. The only horse races I see as abuse are the races where they jump over multiple obstacles. All of you need to open your eyes and grow up. These horses are bred to run, and they love it.

Empirexi Oh yeah, horses just love the feeling of dying while their greedy jockey is whipping it and kicking it. Yes, the jockey did well in this race, and so did the horse. But I still think that these races are abuse. And I’m tired of of people like you defending this. Nobody has to calm their shit when it comes to killing animals. Whipping is fine, if it’s on the jockeys boot, but pushing a horse to do something they dont like is not okay. And I havent seen any horse that has been calm at a race track. I am an animal lover and horse owner. Most of these race horses love ! to run, probably 95%. In the course of the race, they r Not hurt. These jockeys love and care about these horses, much more than the owners in most cases. That whip or spur used will not leave a mark because its not used abusively. These horses forget all about it because there is no physical harm done.

The horses can't feel good if their riders do like they do in the competition. The riders think that the horses is a thing that can be beaten with a whip without some hurt... You really have to be a friend to your horse, a real friend. And if you are that, you can be the winner in the all competitions because that is the strongest method. DON'T FORGET THAT!!!! (I'm 13 years old and from Sweden so that is the reason if it is something wrong in the text)

Jesus, nobody can be happy in the equestrian world. Yes, some jockeys may whip their horse, some maybe just hit their boot to get the horse to respond to the noise! People can't do anything. It's like some people hate spurs, someone with a perfectly steady leg with wear them, ride them as they should yet they still get hate. Some petty little comment ain't gonna change the way these jockeys ride their horses. Also, not sure where any of y'all are from but here in England the horses are absolutely stunning! They're healthy, not a mark on them! Just expand you mind and look beyond all of these horse racing is abuse videos to someone that most likely works in the industry, rather than taking possible fake information from someone who doesn't. 🤷‍♀️🤦‍♀️

Ur saying that in England horses are absolutely healthy. That’s not true at all. Yes some horses are, but some if not most horses are not treated as they should. It doesn’t matter if someone with a steady leg wears spires or if someone with a terrible leg wears them. They are still meant for pain ain’t hey are used for pain and they are caused for pain. You can’t expand your mind to anything else but the abuse... You are one of those people that just ignore horse abuse and try to focus on the “brighter side of things” That’s not how life works and if you are going to ignore everything bad that happens, well go ahead and do that but there are some equestrians that are trying.

There is nothing wrong with using spurs as long as its used properly, there is a right way and a wrong way to use things. Whips I don't necessarily agree with, though animals do have a higher pain tolerance than humans do, I imagine its still has a small sting to it.

Life's Fantasy Horses can actually feel more pain than we can in the places that we would use a crop on them. And I know that abuse will never stop but some things are getting better and if more people wake up to the fact that horses have lives too than maybe the Equestrian world might get a little better. There is hope for the people that do everything they can to make their horse comfortable. I don’t care if a horse is not bothered at all by the spurs, if you have to use anything other than your body and the horse when you are riding, then maybe you are not such a good rider. If you need to use a heavy harsh bit to “control” the horse than maybe you should not be riding because if you did not have the bridle than u would not be able to have control. The equestrian world has a lot of different sides to it but the abuse side is the most abundant.

HobbyHorseFlowers Ranch I never said that only racing is abusive, or if every kind of riding is abusive. I’m not even saying that riding is abusive.. All I’m saying is that there is an abusive side to riding. There always will be. And if your the kind of person saying “Well horse abuse will never stop so why not just abuse them and act like they are machines.” Then you are one of the many people that need to treat horses better. You need to respect horses and treat them as good as possible no matter how bad your day is going or how bad your life is. They don’t have a say in how their like works. they get pushed aeround and used. Yes, I do ride, and im not saying that what i do is not at all uncomfortable for the horse. But I do try my nest to make the horse as comfortable as possible and I do treat them like they are living things that have feelings. Because thats exactly what they are.

Ok I see in the comments people fighting if whips are bad in horse racing Heres what I know the whips are light weight and they are known as the “jockey’s leg” because with short stirrups it is probably hard to kick a horse at full speed so it depends of the way the jockey uses it and there is a limit of how many times you are allowed to whip the horse

@@sukichan2543 first off I’ve been to school,volunteer at the vet to help with horses,I ride horses (do barrel racing),I have studied many race horses,barrel horses,reining horses and everything and when you whip a horse yes they have less skin cells but they could really care less bc you can’t whip as hard when the horse is running so they aren’t whipping that hard, let me explain bc you need to go back to school so think about it when the horse is running there is wind and so most of the times it shouldn’t bother the horse and the horse doesn’t care a lot of the times. So go back to school I think you need too.
