SweetyKaria Lps Horse racing is something SO many people consider abuse, and yes it can be if you treat the horses wrong, but so many disciplines could be abuse. Like jumping, barrel racing, dressage, etc. Racing is something the horses enjoy, they’re bred to run, it’s natural for them. Humans will tend to hurt them when they do something wrong, so the sport/ discipline itself is not abuse, it’s mainly the human. Which people always think racing is abuse for horses, when it really isn’t
@MMC-zq7um4 жыл бұрын
@@idklol9285 While you kinda gotta point far more horses die on just on the race tracks then in other disciplines. That's gotta say something? But you are correct in that it's a large part the human..
@idklol92854 жыл бұрын
AngryPygmyRaccoon 2018 of course they do, expect a horse not to die while running? Of course it doesn’t happen to every horse, but that doesn’t make the discipline abuse, first of humans made it, so if the humans are not making the track properly, forgetting to do some important things to keep the track safe, thats their fault. Plus, the humans who really pressure the horses to do it, that’s also abuse, from the humans not the discipline itself. The horses want to run, so why would they do it when they know their putting themselves at risk? Look.. horse racing is one of the only discipline where horses run at their fastest, you think that they are going to perfectly fine after the run? No, some get hurt for many reasons but that isn’t always the humans fault, nor the horses. The horses afterward are probably really sore, but with proper care they’ll be fine.

@youreinvalid84934 жыл бұрын
@@cassofstupidity5168 between 700 and 800 horses die on the tracks a year, nearly 10 horses died A WEEK on American tracks in 2018. Horses sometimes begin training or are already racing when they’re only 2 years old. At such a young age, their bones are still growing and are unprepared for the pressure of running on a hard track at fast speeds. Because they’re forced to run so fast and so often, horses are constantly getting injured on the racetrack. Instead of retiring them, humans often give them drugs to mask the pain and force them to keep racing. This causes their injuries to become even worse. Although horse meat isn’t common in the U.S., it’s a big business in other places. When their racing days are over-at only 6 or 7 years old-the “winning” horses don’t get a fancy retirement. Instead, many of them are sent to Canada, Mexico, or Japan to be killed for meat. Thousands of horses are killed for the meat industry every single year. Knowing all these things, please don't try so say these horses are 'worshiped'. These horses do not lead good lives. It's not the bad apples that there are few of, it's the good ones.

Hey y’all! Racing here isn’t abuse, the horses get so much enrichment, they get pet, they get baths even when they aren’t due to racing that day! They get better vets, dentists, farriers then your standard showjumper! The horses can only race up to age 7-8, which means they get a better 25+ years of retirement. Some race places do start horses too young but many horses enjoy their jobs, as their able to race with friends, and same horses they were born with, horses enjoy racing, that’s why the horses keep running when a jockey gets thrown off, sometimes it’s instinct, but the horse has all the will in the world to throw off a rider if they hated it, and not all jockeys abuse their horses, in the ‘ MANY CLOUDS WINS THE 2015 RACE (JOCKEY CAM ) ‘ ( or something like that ) the jockey says to the groom ‘ Are you nervous? ‘ the groom says ‘ No ‘ and then the jockey go’s ‘ I just want her to be safe ‘ jockeys do love their horses, watch the video of when their horses die on the tracks, they usually cry, and stay with their horses.

I remember when I rode my first race, I was amazed at how surreal it was. Very quiet other than some riders yelling at the start. We went 6f and when turning for home the roar of the crowd was great, even though I had no chance for a placing I drove a little harder from the excitement of the crowd sounding off. To the comments below; Yes, when waiting for a long time in the gate it gets a little nerve racking, especially if your horse is acting up. The stirrups being high are for a reason, it doesn't make it scary to those that ride. Being a jockey you are your own team, but the brotherhood is like nothing else.

Meet and ride a competition horse if you can survive staying on with no experience, then tell me if they want to do this. Yes, they know what they are doing, they're running away because they're scared. One thing I know for sure is that horses fell uncomfortable in small spaces, and guess what? They put them in a small space at the beginning. Second of course they will run even if the rider falls, they follow the other horses, because most likely in nature, if the group runs away it means there's some kind of danger behind, that's why they all keep running. That's simple

I love the way she treated her horse and socialized with others. This video proves horse racing isn't as bad as it seems and most horses matter of fact do get other lives to live. At about 3 to 4 years the horse normally gets retired and usually switches to showjumping, dressage, or possibly barrel racing and other western events. I've never seen Czech racing and it's interesting they just ride up there. Where I go field masters lead the racers up. The track is interesting as it's mostly grass as well. Not to mention the post is quite nice.

Not really. I mean, yeah, she was nice to her horse, yet she beat him/her during the race. The horses have to run as fast as they can, yet it's never good enough for the riders. Besides, not all of them get to "retire happily". Many are sent to slaughter houses. Plus, have you ever seen what happens when a horse crashes or gets a leg injury? A green screen goes up to block the audience from seeing, and the horse is killed and taken away on a tractor. Even if they aren't killed, many horses are still drugged heavily. Looks can be deceiving.

We have jockey whips at our barn that we sometimes use on the cross country course...I've been beaten by them before by my friends and I've hit my friends with them before. It doesn't hurt. At all. My jumping crop hurts more when I tap it. The material makes a VERY loud noise and often times is hit against the boot, not the horse itself.
@Thelastchangeling4 жыл бұрын
Abby Carvide do you even realize how sensitive horses are? Gerten (the german Word For short whips)are designed to gide a horse not whip it. A horse can feel a lot more than us humans do, not to mention that I’ve done the same with my friends and it really does hurt. One more thing that I should say is that the racing industry puts horses (and jockeys ) in an immense amount of danger. Horses break their legs so fast in these types of sports that it’s actually unbelievable. I don’t support horse racing and I hope other equestrians can too. Please watch raleighreacts Videos on this matter it’s really important.
@abbycarvide7234 жыл бұрын
@@Thelastchangeling Robin Dabank as Zoe The fact that you even REFERENCE crops shows that you don't know what you're talking about. Racing utilizes padded whips. If a jockey were to walk in with a bat or crop, like you or I use, they would be told to get a padded crop, or else they could not use a crop in that race. Often times, the jockey is waving the crop by their face, OR smacking their boot. If a horse has blinkers on, the jockey will smack his boot. In America, the horses are ONLY allowed to be hit on the flank or the shoulder. You can also only hit them a certain amount of times and only in the straight. I can't remember the exact amount of times, but it's not a lot. PADDED WHIPS DO NOT HURT. THEY MAKE A LOUD NOISE. Also, horses break their legs in ALL EQUESTRIAN SPORTS. The vast majority of owners and trainers care more about their horses then themselves. The horses are their INCOME, if they get banned, or if their horse becomes injured and cannot race anymore/has to be euthanized, they will have a cut off of income. WHY would they want that? Also, please put the numbers into perspective. People criticized Santa Anita a bunch last year, so let's use them. Santa Anita had around 30 breakdowns. Out of how many? Oh, over at least 1000 at the meet? Racing is one of the most popularized forms of equestrian sport, and has VERY public death records. (I can go and check them RIGHT NOW...which is something I can't say for USEF or USEA....) This is getting long, so I won't continue for much longer, but god, Raleigh? I got a good chuckle out of that one. Raleigh shares her OPINION. Everything she says about horse racing is her OPINION. That she founded on one or two BIASED articles. Sweetheart, wake up. Please actually go to a track and see all this 'mistreatment'. Thank you. 🙂
@joe7965 Жыл бұрын
@Abby Carvide I race, and it's 11 times that im allowed to whip the horse hard. It used to be 7 times, but now the whip can only be used backhanded, and these padded whips are useless. They do sting the horse, but they don't hurt the horse as much as the old type of race whip.
