For 12 years I had the pleasure and privilege to live in Sacromonte, Granada. I would regularly walk past Juan's music school and he would be sitting at the window playing, with the view of the Alhambra in front of him. As a fan of John McLaughlin - the fastest jazz guitar player around - I don't impress easily, but I was astounded by Juan's technical playing abilities. Sometimes it sounded as though there were three guitarists playing. And he ALWAYS had that same stoic expression on his face!! Never saw him smile, but at that stage I didn't realise quite who he was, and I just stood there in front of him, listening and enjoying every single note. It was a magical, indeed romantic, uplifting and unforgettable experience. Time and time again - although never enough!! Muchas Gracias Vecino....
