Juancho, Anthony Edwards, and Kenny Smith all did a great job acting. This movie was proof you can have basketball players in a movie, and not feel like a high school production.

@@Mygoalisfitness His acting was good as well. He showed emotion through the film and even shed a tear. I’ve watched movies with “credible” actors who could barely get their eyes wet and this man cried in a scene. Not saying that it’s the sole reason why I consider him a good actor but just saying that it wasn’t only the casting as you mentioned.
@christianolson8543

his acting wasn't great, but because of his thick accent and his English (which is good but not great), it seems believable. he can't speak English naturally enough to possibly act badly if that makes sense.

Not an excellent movie BUT well done *not just as a sports film BUT as a movie, in general.* Very entertaining. Also imparts some good values and positive reinforcement specially to struggling aspiring young athletes, and even to middle-aged men who might be at the crossroads of their careers or are still chasing that elusive dream job or dream business. I'd rate this a solid 6.5 out of 10.

By giving us the impression that he is some new actor in full NBA shape, which mean he succeeded characterization already. He doesn't talk too much in the film, I guess it's all part of the script but for someone like me who is taking-up Theatre and Playwright in Drama School, silent dialogues and relaxed acting method are one of the hardest part to achieve. But Juancho nailed it.

Personally, I didn’t think I was going to like this movie… just thought ya ya another Sandler flick playing the same character.. but it was sooo good. Great story, great acting, basketball scenes were so fun to watch.

Saw it and thought it was a mildly entertaining movie. It's a little unbelievable at times (realism is not this movies strongsuit), and kind of waters down some of the struggles associated with being an international player, but it's definitely heartfelt with a good resolution. Definitely watch if you're an NBA fan

It's as real as it can be while keeping it entertaining. If they showcased the entire process then it would be boring af

@@_truthBtold eh, not really. This movie basically just paid lip service to fans of the nba. I don't think this is a film that would be entertaining to people that aren't familiar with that space. It was somewhat shallow, unrealistic, and lacked the depth that we'd find in a classic sports movie. It's ok to point this out while recognizing that yes, it was entertaining for nba fans

@@genesisbriggs6507 My wife doesn't like sports and absolutely loved it! I thought it was an outstanding film not just for a basketball movie

Just pulled up and watched this movie and didn't recognize him as jauncho. Just thought the whole time, they really got a actor who's tall and coordinated enough to pass as a pro player. Figured it out about half way through.

Well I can tell you this. Juancho is by far the BEST NBA actor of all time time. Better than MJ, Shaq, Charles, Garnett, LeBron and even surpassing Ray Allen's Jesus Shuttlesworth.
