I don't know what it is about this lil hook. Been in my head ever since I heard it. It just penetrates and blesses. Makes me smile deep down. Let's u know that God is always right here, right now. Spirit swung down on these three souls. The anointing is sweet and powerful. Thank u...♨️

Paul Porter to me is like the Ron Isley(Mr Bigg) of quartet.....................

Okay, so Alton and Jubu are killing on guitar as always. The crazy thing is that it was so good that a Gospel Quartet singing legend like Paul Porter just HAD TO vocal bomb the jam session...LMBO! And a lot people may not be aware, but back in the day Paul himself was a great Quartet guitarist in his own right. Gospel Quartet royalty all around, gathered to pay homage to one of its fallen icons/servants. Respect and RIP to Mr. Lee Williams.

You're absolutely right, Paul wrote most of his groups songs with his guitar..be surprised at the number of people who didn't know Paul was the guitarist 1st before becoming the lead singer for "The Christianaires..

@@mr.mention5308 Back in early 1980s I was fortunate to see Paul and the Christianaires perform live. Vocally Paul killed it as usual. Then at the end of their set he grabbed his guitar and played a solo, climaxing with him playing it with his teeth ala Jimi Hendrix. Never saw a Quartet guitarist do that; blew my mind...LOL! Indeed, Paul Porter was/is a bad dude. #respect

With all respect, Jonathan Dubois jr will do what both of these cats do at the same time. He must be the most underrated guitarist ever!

That's probably why he's underrated sounds like he's doing too much, over playing.

That reverse bended chord that Jubu did at the end is the coolest part. Both guitarists are phenomenal . I really wish I could add jazz and quartet to my skillset. It sounds Beautiful but difficult to master

Can someone tell me what kind of guitar Jubu is playing
@Callmejaybyrd2 жыл бұрын
It’s a Japanese guitar named “Badd”. The owner of the company approached him when he was playing with Lalah Hathaway and asked him to try it out. JuBu did and he really liked it and the owner ask him to play it during the show. After the show he told JuBu he could keep the guitar. He also told JuBu he would build him more but JuBu lost his contact information and never seen the man again.. so you’ll never be able to find this guitar anywhere in the world.

I feel like Jubu is using an alternate tuning because those lower harmonies are eluding me. Those low harmonies are the most tasteful part of his playing imho.
