JUBUTIA! - Tropical Garden Update in Tennessee

Cold hardy tropical palms and plants in Tennessee, 2nd year of my garden. Jubutia was picked up in Ocean Springs, MS at Mule Palms of Mississippi. Should be a great cold hardy feather palm option here in 7A.

I watch these videos when I lay down to sleep at night. Sometimes I put on the tea tree oil for that extra effect. My 6th grade art teacher taught me that light is a color. Maybe put some of them in your garage and turn the lights off to see if they are really all green.

Nice! Ive got 6 of them in the UK, mine have had -8°c this winter, no damage. Yours should do well with more heat that you get.

Wow, beautifully tropical. Are the roots exposed of the Mexican fan palm? I think that is not ideal.

Yes the washy is up a bit high, we also had some flooding which made it worse.

@@andrewspalmsoftennessee5332 All palms should be planted a little bit higher than the surrounding soil level! Prevents root rot. You just need to cover the exposed roots and hold the soil in place maybe with some stones. 😉

​@@Redeleiseryes in areas with a lot of rain thats a good tip. Here in the desert it rains so little the palms are planted in depressions.
