I love the screaming at the end. It’s like releasing the pressure everyone puts on you and just figuring yourself out. Everyone says I’m “too young” to experience back pain but everyone says I’m “too old” to just play. Everyone makes it so hard for people to live their own truth, why can’t we just support and live each other? This song gives me hope someday it will happen. I don’t know why

LYRICS: [Verse 1] I ain't trading my youth for no suit and jacket I ain't giving my freedom for your money and status So don't say I'm getting older Cause I'll say it when I do [Chorus] Cause everybody I know, everybody I know Is growing old, is growing old too quickly And I don't wanna go So how am I supposed to slow it down so I can figure out who I am? [Verse 2] And I ain't trading my dreams for no 401k And I ain't giving this fire for a cold, cold heart So don't say I'm getting colder Cause I'll say it when I do [Chorus] Cause everybody I know, everybody I know Is growing old, is growing old too quickly And I don't wanna go So how am I supposed to slow it down so I can figure out who I am? [Bridge] Some of us surviving Some of us just roaming Some of us just hoping the world will move more slowly And some of us alive We're all gonna die one day Yeah some of us surviving Some of us just roaming Some of us just hoping the world will move more slowly And some of us alive We're all gonna die one day Yeah, some of us surviving Some of us just roaming Some of us just hoping the world will move more slowly Some of us alive We're all gonna die one day [Chorus] Cause everybody I know, everybody I know Is growing old, is growing old too quickly And I don't wanna go So how am I supposed to slow it down so I can figure out who I am? *These are in the description, I'm just putting it here for anyone who didn't notice. This song really speaks to me in an abstract way... I dropped out of college after 1 semester and hated myself for doin so, Iserved and bartended to get by and enjoyed it but one day I was intrigued about the idea of real estate and owning properties providing cash flow. Now 6 months later I own 5 properties, 4 rentals and a house we are flipping and know dropping out of college was the best thing I did. College is for some people but not everyone and I can fully say I am happy every day and loving life by not taking the path society recommends to most. You must do what you truely believe is the best path for you as a person. Just don't be shitty and try to screw people for your benefit. You get far more from providing value to others! Thanks for reading and hoped you git something from this comment!

@ChelsaeRN4 жыл бұрын
Those notes right off the bat at 0:08-0:20 , sends something incredible just searing through me...like a rush of cold, crystal clear water flooding in in a drought, mixed with lightning striking up an electrical storm, and the feeling of free falling through a warm, tropical rain that meets turquoise waters under a Caribbean sunset.... Combined with the strangest sense of nostalgia that makes my heart swell and kinda reminds me oddly enough of the 4th of July, and the red white and blue bomb popsicles, but like also kinda like I'm riding through space while eating it...in fact, I think they're even called like rocket bomb pop or something...so, it was meant to be obviously. Wow....either my internal meteorologist (what, you don't have one of those??) is playing hookie and hittin the good stuff....or....I just get a really freaking amazing feeling hearing those notes....like, MAN, what a way to start a song....phew!!! And on that note (or 3), I'm definitely headed out to get me one of those popsicles now.

I think it's the frequency, the vibrations just resonates with our bodies and some more than others, sometimes I think it's more how we feel the music than what we hear and that's why we like what we like. This one definitely resonates with me too. It almost seems to fill me with memories and an emotional pull from the first note. Love it!

Don’t be sad, be glad that you get to experience life for however many years you have been on earth for, not everyone makes it to the age you are now. How’s college life ?

I'd like to just point out, that this song is exactly what it's like being 21, and everyone else is growing up.

I just left a job of 20 years to finally work on me. I took too long. Don't wait like I did. It's the best thing I could do for myself.

Take it all Back might've beat this song to it

take it all back put them on a lot of people's radar. Song lacks much more material just a catchy tune that can get stuck in your head. A single like this can take them to the next level no doubt.

Take it All Back probably will because it was on the radio

I heard this song on the radio today, though, so it's getting up there.

Have to admit though, Take it All Back has more depth still has more depth than half the crap on the radio these days, these guys are going places.

I'm 21 and this song hits me. The past few months I've been completely forced to become an adult while I had no idea how to. Life ain't forgiving and sometimes it's hard not be cold-hearted. Honestly it's much more easier to give in into the huge amount of pressure turning you into an unfeeling person. Sadly this song only makes me realize I've become the person my younger self would've never wanted me to be.

Amen. I'm 33, and for every one of me in here, there is someone who is 40, 50, 60, 70. Who cares....enjoy the ride. 18 Feels like a long time ago, dead is right around the corner. Life's short, enjoy each chapter, it's your book....

When I'm in the mood for a windows-down music-on-blast drive, this is the first song that comes on. 36 y.o. dad of three? Nahh, I'm 16 (again) ;-P

This song hits different when you have to give up for a suit and jacket. I miss my 20s. Being 35 now you realize that you can’t fight growing old forever

I didn't graduate high school when I was supposed to because of various mistakes and I'm trying to catch up but I am so desperately afraid of how it feels like I'm running behind and running out of time, and how scared I am of getting older. I feel like I wasted all of my youth. This song hurts so much.

Been there, keep moving forward. All the rumination over a misspent youth is B.S. Don't should've all over yourself.
