Been a fan of Priest since the mid 80's. First album I heard from them was Sin after SIn. Second album was Turbo. Big difference in production quality between the two as they had gained popularity over the years and, henceforth, had a larger production budget. You should definitely listen to some of their older works however.. even if the production is not as tight..as many heavy metal classics come from the earlier years. This is not to say they did not create killer music later.. but a good foundation starting at the beginning is almost essential to appreciate the genre as it developed over the years. Much, if not all Metal can trace it's roots back to some variant of Black Sabbath, Rainbow, Deep Purple, and Judas Priest. Peace

The nuances of the song get lost in the low quality recording of this live version, but Rob Halford's voice shines through. The studio version is much better.

🤘😏🤘 Idk I loved this reaction. This was the best live video I could find of this song, it doesn't exactly shine so well on the instrumentals, but it does on Halfords voice. This particular song's off of their album 'Painkiller' all songs are like a lighting bolt or a battering ram comin' at you except for 1 or 2 of 'em. I kinda felt you were lost for words, hope someone else has put in a request for Priest... if we are going by genre they'd be my favorite Heavy Metal band. Anyway thanks & much love 💯💯💙

Ok... Special K. Let's talk about the Priest. Seen Rob and this lineup long time ago and several times over the past few years with the current lineup, after KKs departure but haven't seen them since Glenn had to step down due to Parkinson's disease. Life catches up with all of us. No metal band has spanned the corners of hard rock and metal like the Priest has. They have experimented with different artistic directions and was the inspiration in my life for harder metal. British Steel was a landmark record for me that set the pace for metal yet to come. As many have mentioned, Painkiller is believed by many to be their master piece song. Rob left the band shortly afterwards, they had a few questionable years with Tim "Ripper" taking the mic. Ripper had awesome range but will always be remembered as a side note next to Rob. Glad the guys reconciled and carried on the legacy. Recent records showed they still had creative gas left in the tank with songs like Lighting Strike and Spectre that kicked ass. Their live concerts have a ton of energy and Rob's vocals blow the roof off. Best concert ever saw of them had Zakk Wylde with his band Black Label Society opening up for them, along with a retooled Thin Lizzy. Could see it in your eyes that this was pushing your comfort zone. As you are yet to explore their catalog, I hope you find the clear and distinctive vocals of Rob and arguably the best dual guitar dynamic to be the bar many bands were inspired by and knew the bar had been set for the next generation. 💞U Much, much love and respect... Rock on and stay heavy!!! 🤘😉🤘 T PS... let's also mention Rob was the biggest name in heavy metal that openly came out as gay. He helped the music world push the idea of acceptance and tolerance for alternative lifestyles. Respect and love are all we need to make the world a better place. 💞U
